I remember i heard a suggestion where there will be 18 regular season games but players can only play 16.Meaning at somepoint you starter would have to sit twice.
Bigger rosters needed probably tho.

That would reward good teams and punish bad ones. If a team clinched a certain seed, then they can rest their starters no problem the last two weeks. If your team is on the bubble and you're facing a must win situation in week 19 or 20, you're screwed if you didn't rest your starters before.

IMV, the NFL is going to have to expand rosters to accommodate player wear and tear and may have to add another bye week to allow for physical recovery. That's good for the players, families, and bank accounts.
The 18-game grind with up to 4 playoff games will kill all but the superman players. 22 games? That's definitely not good for most players.
I also can't see fans watching any 0-18 team.

I do think 2 preseason games is too little. I mean after 2 games this year, do we know who the #2 WR will be? Kirk looks to be in the lead. Williams had 1 good game and 1 bad game. Butler hasn't really gotten a chance yet.
The DE spot in place of Golden still looks to be up for grabs.
I'd like to get one more look at Kanoff too.
If anything, I think 3 preseason games would be ideal. Right in the middle. We need 1 more game to really evaluate things.

Overly simplistic response. The 2 extra PS games are for the new players into the league to have a chance to make a team. Cutting that back reduces that opportunity in so many ways. Is yiur response just over not having to pay regular season ticket price for 2 PS games? I could care less about ticket prices, preseason or otherwise. They are a known quantity and you decide to pay to go to the game or not. Longer camp, more inter team scrimmages will get you lined out about who your starters are just as easily as 4 preseason games. The 4th game is useless anyway as it's just filled with players most likely not making the roster and are auditioning for the practice squad or other teams. Add another bye week, lose the week off before the Super Bowl, get rid of the Pro Bowl and expand the roster to accommodate some "bubble" players that inept coaches couldn't figure out before the regular season started. Why do you think everyone knows who the starters are even by the first preseason game and play them sparingly if at all? The games mainly line out who's 2nd and 3rd on the depth chart and the rest are just cannon fodder for the free agent feeding frenzy before the season starts.

The 18 game schedule is just too long. Look at how these guys are getting hurt now. With 18 games there won't be any one left standing.
The NFL is loosing some of it's luster. Adding more games isn't going to help bring it back.

If the NFL is going to tinker with the number of games and scheduling of games then I would like to suggest the following : 1. Reduce the number of preseason games to 3. Most teams already have a good idea of their roster by the 4th preseason game 2. Schedule an extra bye week for each team 3. Figure out a way to schedule the Thursday night games so that the teams playing do not play on the Sunday before the Thursday night game 4. Consider expanding the playoffs to include an extra wild card, as suggested by others, with only the 1st seed getting a bye week to the Divisional round

they only play once a week. google who has the highest year per average rushing. and the guy also played middle linebacker, both sides of the ball. I swear its gonna get like base ball and a hang nail can sideline you for months. bolding got his face broke. we had that player whos finger came off in his gloves. if you are too dainty to play football the cheer leader tryouts are right over there. they can suck it up just like in the old days. put some braces on your knees, strap your helmet on tight and go get some wins. the nfl minimum is almost half a mill to ride the pine and they only work half the year. they get paid very well, let them earn it. and with falling ratings the networks are gonna want extra weeks to generate the same ad revenue. if not the players and owners can accept a pay cut.

Bolden wasn't paid to catch balls with his face. Some players considered that a perk.

I can see a 3 preseason and 17 regular season schedule in the NFL's future.
Knowing that the NFL wants to expand internationally that'd make perfect sense. Teams could play abroad without having to give up a home game. Each team then has 8 home games, 8 away games plus one international/neutral site game.
Would mean 16 international/neutral site games per season. Obviously there's already 3-4 in London and one in mexico City each year. It's known the NFL is looking at Germany, Brazil and China. Canada is certainly an option, too. You could also do something like Texans/Cowboys at the Cotton Bowl as their 17th international/neutral site game.

That takes the .500 season off the table. If past is prologue, the change will ruin the Cardinals future.

Is yiur response just over not having to pay regular season ticket price for 2 PS games? With the advent of 2 new professional football league’s coming soon, there will be additional opportunities to evaluate players. That’s why I believe there will be 2 preseason games and 18 regular season games after the new CBA.. i also think that that some of the NFL ownership groups will be involved in the new professional football teams.. it will work like professional baseball and the d league in the nba..
