Reading this article on the Cards' site, it sure leaves lots of room for "interpretation". I'm betting there will be lots of unhappy players and fans before this is all worked out.
IMO the game won't be the same, and nobody will like it. What's your take?

I tend to agree with you about the rule change. I think going back to leather helmets would be a better move than this.

yes this is gonna be a big problem...one would think that after the decades long "what is a catch" mess that the nfl would have learned to have definitive rules...this new helmet rule opens the door for much controversy...every week some penalties will be called, some want and both teams will feel like they got hosed...silver lining is that this SHOULD penalize the dirtiest team in football(seahawks) more than most.

After watching the HOF game and seeing some of the helmet pentalies called, this will become a more controversial issue than the catch rule was. On play the helmet became part of the tackle and they still called it. I see this call happening in a game that will change the out come and it will probably be a Cards game.

Meh.....new rules = lots of flags in pre-season to set the tone for the season. It's not a problem unless the ambiguity continues into the season.

I can see many games being decided by these penalties which isn't gonna be enjoyable for players or fans... also lots of these calls will be missed so it's almost unfair to call some of them.

So when a running back lowers his shoulders and crashes through the line he has to keep his head up? That seems unnatural. Also what about the diving defensive backs. They have to dive with their head up? We'll see how this goes.

I'm betting that this rule will cause more injuries than prevent. Players will hesitate by lifting their head up while their torso is lateral to the ground. When they get hit, their neck vertebra will hyper-extend posteriorly instead of compacting (like vertebra are supposed to do). It might prevent some concussions, but it may cause paralysis! See Ryan Shazier's injury when his spine was bent in a direction it wasn't supposed to go.

Bingo! I'm with you all the way on that. IMO it is a classic example of rule (or law) making having unintended consequences. The only small addition I have to add is that lateral displacement could also occur with similar damage to the spine. Either way it is B-A-D.
Darryl Stingley (sp) is another example of that type injury from further back in history. He was hit in the head by a shoulder - a legal hit at the time - and became paralyzed.

See Ryan Shazier's injury when his spine was bent in a direction it wasn't supposed to go. Except I’m certain this rule was made because of the Ryan Shazier injury. He was known to always lead with his helmet first and head down. I remember the dirty hit he made on Giovanni Bernard. Of course, around the league he never got a bad rep because he plays for Pittsburgh. Eventually he’s way of tackling led to his catastrophic injury. On the play, he clearly put his head down to lead with his helmet. His head never lifted until after he bounced off the receiver.

See Ryan Shazier's injury when his spine was bent in a direction it wasn't supposed to go. It’s all about preventing law suits, less about injuries to players. The nfl has decided they have to much exposure re: concussion possibilities. In a few years when there have been a few broken necks, they will fine tune this rule.. probably just in time for the new cba.. lawyers are the enemy of everything and everyone. Except for themselves!!
