Who's that masked man? Could it be . . . the Lone Ranger in disguise ? If it is, I traded Silver for a red Toyota and I'm missing an Indian sidekick... Good choice on the Toyota. More horse power.

Tailgate at the Golden Corral?
OK, but all you kids need to bow down to a truly old man if you want me to show up.
And bring a nurse and a hearse, just in case.

Is this thread now turning into an old geezer reunion? Hold your hand up if you are over 65. And if I have to drive 1500+ miles it will take me 2 days to get there. Hopefully someone would be kind enough to help me get tickets to the game as well?!!

I think I like Wilks so far, but I'm not sure. Obviously a lot remains to be seen. I do like the presence he brings - he certainly commands the room with his confidence, leadership and speaking, and knowledge. He carries himself well and I like a guy like that leading the charge. So I feel pretty comfortable that he could become something. Hopefully he is in more of that Belichick mold because the one thing that worries me is that Mike Singletary and Steve Spagnuolo also had similar qualities and they were busts as head coaches. Hopefully Wilks doesn't go that way.
I think the "no nonsense" approach can be successful but only to a certain extent. You still need to have some fun, and you need to make sure your focus is on things that matter. Being "no BS" about useless things makes players tune you out quickly. It's a balance.

I am not concerned at all about Wilks coaching style since he IMO is a great mix of old and new school. He is old school with more one-on-one hitting drills and starting some practices early including some outside. This is in sharp contrast to BA's "camp cupcake" which did not fare well with early East Coast games or when there was inclement weather. I think the team will be more physical and especially will be seen in the OL play ... of course better position coaching there will also help. He is "new" school by piping in a variety of loud music (rap/classic rock/country rock) during practice to keep up the energy. His approach with millenials wherein he and coaching staff explain WHY a certain drill or technique must be used rather than the old school approach which is "just do it because I say so." We'll see if this coaching style works with guys like Nkemdiche/Reddick/B. Williams/C. Williams etc ... who have a lot of physical ability that hasn't translated to the football field.

I remember the old Lombardi Packers running that patented GB sweep 3,4,or 5 times a game. Same with the Steelers. They ran that inside trap with Harris 3,4,or 5 times a game. Both had one thing in common. They our executed the other teams D on those plays. That's what it's all about. Our executing the other team on a few play. Even if the other team knows what's coming.
How in the world can anyone remember 200 different plays? How can they remember 100 for that matter and get them right ? In a typical game the offense gets somewhere between 65 to 75 plays. Know 5 running plays to perfection and maybe 15 to 20 passing plays. Out execute the other team on those plays and you will get consistent yardage.
Sometimes I think these head coaches and O coordinators try and out thing their opponent. Where 20 to 25 plays run to perfection would work a lot better. You knew what was coming with GB and the Steelers but you still couldn't stop them. Football is a simple game. You out execute your opponent. You out block and tackle your opponent, and most time you win.
