Being able to throw a curving and sinking baseball like that is something really special for a pitcher. Long ago, I was a HS baseball pitcher. I also was a rare 6'2" leftie with huge hands, and thus, I was in demand as a starting pitcher and reliever some days. I had a so-so fastball, meaning 80-85mph was hit-able speed even in HS. I worked on getting my speed up but all the sprints, situps, free weights, isometrics, and leg presses in the world did nothing to help. My pitching coach knew that I threw a crazy sinker curve ball on demand so me and the catchers worked on that pitch a lot. At my age today, I can still make a baseball drop off a cliff. It only takes speed and torque to make it work. Nothing is more satisfying to a pitcher and catcher than seeing a batter lunge at a curving and sinking pitch. I knew my 'stuff' was good then. Morton has a killer sinker curve. Good for him.
