Did anyone see the video on 12 sports last night showing the Phoenix Cardinals training camp in 1988? I searched youtube to come up with anything (hopefully a longer clip) but was unsuccessful. Anyway, it was in Flagstaff and featured very large shoulder pads and Gary Hogeboom explaining one of the drills the offence was running. I was in the 9th grade in 1989 and Hogeboom is the first Cardinals QB that I remember because he was the QB when I went to my first Cardinal game: a 0-37 loss to the Denver Broncos at a Sun Devil stadium filled with Broncos fans. With an eventual 5-8 record (he was named starter after Neil Lomax went down with arthritis) it was hard to tell that in his one year with the Phoenix Cardinals, Hogeboom actually posted career highs with 2,591 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. So, here's to you, Hogeboom - If you hadn't concealed your identity on the 11th season of Survivor (as a landscaper named "Gary Hawkins"), I would have been rooting for you in 2005 just as I was in 1989!
