Greetings, Birdgang and Cardinals Nation! . Second NFL Gameday of the 2019 Regular Season is already here, as our Arizona Cardinals are in the East Coast to play the Baltimore Ravens in the battle of NFL teams named after aggressive birds. Ravens are the first of four interdivisional opponents the Cardinals will play from the AFC North, and are also visiting and playing their first scheduled regular season game at Baltimore in eight years.
Arizona will try to not only win their first regular season road game at Baltimore in 22 years, but also their second overall, and their first at the Raven's M&T Bank Stadium.
Arizona's offense, led by rookie QB Kyler Murray will have the daunting task and major challenge so far as they will face the NFL's #1 Total Defense. Same with the Cardinals Defense as they will also face Lamar Jackson and the Raven's offense. An early lead and a swarming defense is crucial and helpful if they overcome the Ravens offense and defense, and the fan noise at M&T Bank Stadium.
Cardinals already finished, unfortunately, 32nd and last in the NFL in 2018 in both Total Offense and Total Offense. Perhaps a sign of what may become during the course of the Cardinals their 2019 NFL season is a gradual increase in team rankings in those categories. So far from their tie game last Sunday with the Detroit Lions, the Cardinals rose to #14 in Total Offense, and #28 in Team Defense, a steady improvement guided by Cardinals Defensive Coordinator Vance Joseph.
Today's game is also a homecoming for Linebacker Terrell Raymonn 'T-Sizzle' Suggs, returning to Baltimore, and played as a Baltimore Raven fro 16 years, from 2003-2018. Suggs attended Hamilton High School in Chandler, and later attended and played at Arizona State University. Ravens selected Suggs with their top pick and # 10 overall in the 2003 NFL Draft. Suggs is also the senior player by overall service in the NFL, one year more than Larry Fitzgerald, and is one of two current players still playing from the 2003 NFL Draft, the other player the Cowboys Jason Witten. Suggs was also the NFL's Defensive Player Of The Year In 2011, and Super Bowl XLVII Champion in 2012.
WR Michael Crabtree also returns to Baltimore, playing with the Ravens last season before the Ravens released him on February 25, 2019
Cardinals could also see two current Ravens players who played for Arizona earlier in their NFL careers. Cornerback Justin Bethel played for Arizona from 2012 through 2017, before playing with the Atlanta Falcons in 2018. Bethel signed with Baltimore on March 15. Safety Tony Jefferson also played with Arizona from 2013 through 2017 before signing with Baltimore on a four-year contract on March 9, 2017.
Arizona seeks to win their first regular season road game, and second ever, since the original Cleveland Browns franchise, led by former owner Art Modell, transferred from Cleveland to Baltimore back in 1996. Cardinals only regular season road win at Baltimore so far, and entering today, was their 16-13 win back on November 23, 1997, and played at the old Memorial Stadium. That game was the first meeting and also their only road win to date with Baltimore. signed with Baltimore on March 9, 2017.
Cardinals kicker Joe Nedney kicked his game-winning 43 yard field goal as time expired to help the Cardinals win 16-13. Jake Plummer threw the only touchdown in the game for Arizona, his 4-yard pass play to WR Frank Sanders. Nedney also added his PAT and two field goals from 22 and 27 yards to complete the game scoring for the Cardinals.
Arizona also defeated Baltimore in both teams recent regular season meeting played at then-named University Of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, by the score of 26-18 played during Monday Night Football back on October 26, 2015. The win ended a four-game losing streak, and was the Cardinals first regular season win over the Ravens in 18 years, and first regular season home win ever over Baltimore in Arizona.
Ravens though leads the all-time regular season series 4-2 in today's seventh meeting.

Great day for NFL Football in Maryland this morning, because sunny and clear skies at 84 degrees, is the gamecast inside Manufacturers and Traders Trust Bank Stadium for the 10:05 AM Mountain Standard Time kickoff, along with 0% precipitation. 44% humidity, and north/northwest winds at 5 miles per hour.
Head Linesman Ron Tolbert leads his NFL officiating crew to supervise the live game action on the field between the Cardinals and Ravens.
NO injuries to the Cardinals and Ravens players and hope Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury's 'Air Raid' offense produces more fruition on the field than last Sunday against the Lions.
Let's hope our Big Red, can overcome Lamar Jackson and the Ravens potent offense and defense in Baltimore, Go Big Red, and LET'S GO CARDINALS!!!!!!
