SF is a hobo sanctuary. Meanwhile, hobos will be hobos. Park poo happens. SF used to be one of if not my favorite cities in the US. I was there 6 months ago and couldn’t believe what it has become. Twice in a few short hours felt my family was in physical danger from drugged out “urban campers” freaking out and fighting anyone in reach. All the same great streets and piers and buildings, underneath a layer of filth and the worst of humanity, while international tourists pretended to be impressed and rich millennials scooted around cluelessly as if their cell phone screens and earbuds were blinders on a horse. I guess things havent changed much. I was there twice about 10 years ago with girlfriends. Never have I felt in so much danger. A guy came at us looking to assault but i stood up to him and he ran away. Another time bumped into very hard by a homeless guy. A taxi driver was so stoned I told him to stop and let us out. Otherwise great trip LOL.

The homeless problem is rampant throughout California. It also is an issue in Seattle and Portland. I read something in the last week or so regarding Seattle’s remedy. They purchase plane tickets for the homeless population. I wonder where they send them too. Whole family’s living in tent cities. Another sad Sanctuary city story. I hope that they are purchasing plane tickets to areas where the people have family or friends that will help them out. There are other places where housing isn’t so expensive and there’s jobs.

I'm going to portland for the first time this august. My girlfriend is a vegan so she really wants to go. The city looks pretty cool but like you mention probably a little like san fran.

Wow I have been to the W on multiple occasions and have just sat in their lobby for hours with no problem. Even videotaped some scenes for some upcoming podcast for an episode in the podcast called "At The Urinal" which is a pretty funny segment of the forbidden taboo subject of men talking in the bathroom. Women can do this freely but men for some reason is frowned upon. *lol* As a matter of fact former 5th round draft pick Shaquille Riddick is in a couple segments of "At the Urinal" as part of the team for the podcast.
Back to the subject never had issues at the W so quite frankly Ricky Seals-Jones must have done something to really irritate those at the W to get the police called on him. I don't know all the facts as I wasn't there so I will reserve judgement when all the facts are laid out just speaking on my experience at the W.

I’ve been in San Fran, Portland and Seattle this year. Seattle has bad bad problem downtown, but it wasn’t on the San Fran level IMO. Didn’t have issues in Portland though I heard there were. May have been the areas I was in and time of day. Bring the g/f to the famous rose garden, and check out the neighborhoods around the park where the gardens are.

Should introduce you to my old HS buddy who loved to chat people up in the men’s room...it was hilarious. The other thing he would do is walk up next to you, pretend to start going, then yell “What are you lookin’ at pervert?!” and then walk out pretending to be all upset, leaving you stuck whizzing with a bunch of strangers looking at you funny.

So Seattle solves problems by passing them on to others? Typical, and hardly surprising. It goes on here too, but on a local scale. Mesa dumps theirs on the light rail - one way trip.
I had a lot more to say, being one of the "benefactors" of that influx, but decided to omit it here as being way beyond football, unless you consider the "homeless" a political football.

That is hilarious! The segment started at a similar incident that my stepson and his co-host had at a Denny's restaurant. Best explained in the introduction of Episode 6 of Kross Korner found on YouTube. Shaquille is being introduced as a co-host this week in Episode 16 and is a co-host from this point forward. Really cool guy.

the sad fact is there is enough money in this country to feed and house the homeless and to ensure that every child regardless of the color of their skin to get an education and have a chance in life but the greed of almost everyone who has more than they need(and they want MORE) makes this impossible.

You would think between the mega $ players and the mega mega $ owners, there could be a solution that actually makes a difference. We have a lot to learn as a people.. I adopt a family every year. Usually a battered woman type situation. And I really believe that I’m the lucky one. If people would help each other, life could be so fulfilling. The dollars available in pro sports now a days is unbelievable, I hope that someday it can be used in a better way.

San Fran has been a mess for awhile. My daughter was being recruited by UC Berkeley in 2008 and one trip around that campus with all the hobos, Rastafarians and street people completely turned her off to attending school there. Of course we headed into San Francisco to look around and was not impressed. Hard to believe people pay a premium to live there.
for the hotel to not let someone use their restrooms on a busy night. I would suspect there is more to the story than what we are seeing.

So much sympathy for a boozebag GM who endangers lives, but nothing but hate for homeless people down on their luck.
Not all homeless are bums. Nor are they drugs addicts. Many just lost a job and couldnt find another one. Believe it or not, but somebody has to hire you in order to get a job. Yes, its absolutely possible that everyone just says No. Even mcdonalds and trench diggers. If everyone says no, suddenly you might be homeless.

Zaz, your simplistic views on what causes homelessness, especially in California amazes me. it’s more about high housing prices and sanctuary state policies than the availability of jobs. I don’t think even if a young person worked full time at McDonald’s making $25 an hour, they could afford an apartment. Housing prices are ridiculous, I have a family friend going to college in Southern California, he rents a 2 bedroom apartment with another guy. $2200 per month not including utilities. So it costs his parents $1450 per month for just housing and utilities. It’s crazy! Of course there is also a lot of drug addicted people that help make up the population, but it is the high housing prices that is the major problem in LA,SF And SanDiego. As far as SK, if you want to continue to denigrate him, I’ll just ignore your cheap shots!

You realize Homeless people exist outside of California right? The cause of homelessness is not San Francisco property values. What about Duluth, Iowa? Or Detroit? As I said, the cause of homelessness is lack of jobs, not because they are bad people.
