I live in the midwest and occasionally we get a tornado warning. That only last maybe 30 mins. I can't imagine knowing something as horrific as hurricane days in advance is coming your way. Sure you have more time to prepare, but the anxiety for that must be off the charts.
I really hope you and all Floridians get a break....and it won't be as bad as some predictions...

FLCF,
The big man upstairs step up, turns Darian northward and away from FL, and saves you and Floridians a lot of grief. Maybe the big man will look out for the Cardinals this season. So far, all good.

I got out and went to ft myers. When I left on Sunday winds were steady at 185 & gusts to 225. If the projections wavered just a little to the west I didn’t think my roof would stay on. And past 150 mph all roofs are equal.

Dorian passing by Norfolk, VA, 6 Sep 600am. Still dark outside at this hour. Heavy rain pounding the casa roof and east-facing windows. 40-50mph steady winds with some higher gusts. My casa is 5' above sea level and located on a brackish water estuary off the Chesapeake Bay. High tide at 4pm this afternoon. Sea water expected in the backyard and maybe lapping the casa front steps by that hour. That is probably the worst of it here from worn out Dorian.
I signed up for NFL Sunday Ticket streaming service. Done going to sports bars. Just me in the FROG on Sundays. Let's do this! Go Cards!

Hopefully, you can report later that your backyard got wet but that's it. I have known a few people that got flooded, while it was not a life-threatening thing for them, it was an extreme hassel. I would not wish that on anyone.
