Agreed.... the contract thing is a little worrisome. But I would be absolutely stunned if it is not worked out.
Both sides have way too much to loose....it will happen....

And now for some things either positive or negative:
We already know what he can do and how well - when and IF he is on the field and playing.
I sniff a pressure tactic, and a pretty good one - but he's still holding out and has missed team practices. By that he may be helping himself, but he's not helping the team. Will anyone have the (guts) to be firm, or will it all be smiles and pats on the back when something is finally decided? There are valid points on both sides of this dispute, but someone must make a move soon or pay a price ... and nobody should be considered irreplaceable - IMO.
This is a bad example for others who admire and follow precedent set by DJ. Will anyone in Cards management be firm? Will they fold, call or raise? Will Wilks plead for quick resolution?
Will Keim (if he is there to do anything) wilt or be strong? Will MB overrule or make a decision himself, or be content to see the team be played by a player?
Possibly related question: Is Keim so overwhelmed by indecision that he drowns his worries? It might help explain recent events, and reports here of similar prior behavior.
Lots of room for comments.

You're telling me there's no time left on the clock and the Cards decide to go for a 42 yard flea-flicker over a hail mary? Wow, McCoy aiming high with the no risk-it no biscuit thing...

I refuse to reminisce about something he did 2 years ago. Reality is he needs to do it again. 1 year does not make you a superstar.
Heres a story for the lads:
In HS I played baseball (+ many other sports). Pitcher. I was OK. 1 magical night I came within 2 out of a perfect game. Truth be told, the team we were playing was awful. But thats besides the point. I almost did something near impossible. That 1 game did not mean I was any better of a pitcher. I had 1 good game. And David had 1 good season.
Do it again.

All I know is Steve Keim must have been drinking when he gave HB that extension he didnt need to give him.
Dont worry about DJ. let him play out his contract. If he's still a superstar franchise him. Then do it again. Then release him. he will be 30.

I disagree with your analysis. You are comparing your 1 game to DJ's 2 seasons in professional sports before he got hurt. This dude tore the NFL up. 2017 is a scratch. 2015 and 2016 he was averaging over 4 yards per rush, and 11 yards per catch... Sure he got hurt last season that doesn't mean he wasn't a superstar before. Again, your 1 good game against a crappy team is not comparable to DJ's 32 successful games in a pro league. If you played 32 (or even 16) close to perfect games in high school your opinion of yourself as a pitcher would be waaaay different... Even if you had gotten hurt for one year...

Of course its different, but the spirit is the same. 1 time, whether that be a game or a season, is not enough to warrant a monster contract. Asking him do it twice is not asking alot. Keep in mind Leveon Bell has had 4 monster seasons and hes still asking to get paid.

It was clearly BA that was holding him back. IMO he's proven it twice... and with garbage O-line at that... I understand both sides though why pay him now when you can have him for 2mil and probably pay him later. I am just not agreeing with the statement that "he hasn't proven anything".
