Hi, Cardinals fans. Just got a text that both the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Sports 98.7FM announced this morning that they will retire and induct former QB Carson Palmer, and his #3, into their Cardinals Ring Of Honor in a home game at State Farm Stadium this season.

I disagree. ....And in fact (this is going to be some heresy)....I disagree about Kurt Warner in the ROH.
Heres the thing: Warner had 1 great season. (similar to Carson). And then a couple pretty good seasons around it. Personally, I dont think 1 great years deserves the ROH.
100% Anquan deserves ROH. Fitz of course. I think Chandler Jones someday (if he plays 3-5 more years for us). PP deserves ROH (I dont care if youre mad at him. Hes an all time GOAT CB and Cards player).
Thats it. Nobody else
What the heck, I just noticed they are retiring his #3 too?! Why?? Jeez, he wasnt that important to AZ.

Anquan Boldin should get in before god damn Carson Palmer. This times 5 million. No disrespect to Palmer at all, but it's a no brainer. Maybe the Cardinals extended the branch to Boldin and he said no.

Why would they do that for him what did he ever do? Low bar for the ring of honor.

I like CP but retiring #3 is overkill. If he won us a Super Bowl ok I’ll go along but that’s just not the case. ROH should be reserved for elite & although he was very good I don’t think Palmer took that leap into the elite category

Devalue the ROH. So hard to be a fan.

Yeah, I’m a big fan of Palmer, I’m wondering if this is an attempt to keep him involved with the franchise in some way. But either way, it’s a little embarrassing, a few good, injury plagued seasons is all it takes to get your number retired for the Cards.

Dont worry guys. Boldin is in the Boldin ring of honour. No way should the Cards celebrate a punk who stormed off the field because he wanted to be the hero, not somebody else.
IMO of course.

Low bar indeed. Wow. Totally devalues everyone who is already in. Bad decision like so many with this franchise.

One of the best QB's we have had. I'm sure there was more off the field, or character/dedication to the team that we have never seen and won't know personally.

Kurt Warner? Yes. Carson Palmer? NO. Well yes Kurt is a H.O.F QB that lead us to the supper bowl. He IMO also got the franchise to change to a lest trying to be something. He did that by leading them somewhere they would still never have had a taste for without him.

Whoa boy, I'm with a lot of you guys. The bar seems kinda low to get into the ROH in Arizona. The standard is low anyway. This is something that should be reserved for someone who played most of their career with the team, and was an outstanding player on and off the field. Based on the numbers alone, Palmer probably deserves the honor if Warner does. They put up eerily similar numbers with the Cardinals, and Palmer won more often. Y GS W- L-T CMP ATT PCT YDS TD INT LG YPG RATING SK 4QC GWD Warner 5 57 27-30-0 1371 2105 65.1 15843 100 59 79 259.7 91.9 107 5 6 Palmer 5 60 38-21-1 1373 2197 62.5 16782 105 57 91 279.7 91.1 137 9 15 However, if you factor in playoff performance, then it's no contest. Warner blows Palmers doors off. Not only because of the Super Bowl, but statistically too. Y GS W-L-T PCT TD INT YPG RATING Warner 2 6 4-2-0 71.1 16 4 288.5 117.4 Palmer 1 2 1-1-0 59.3 4 6 292.0 67.1 Still, only 5 seasons, of which only 2 were good, and that's good enough to get into the ROH? AND to have the number retired? I'm definitely against that move. The Vikings haven't even retired Randy Moss' #84 yet lol. I would even hesitate putting Warner in there. Maybe if he won the Super Bowl. But that's my opinion of all these honors lol. They all seem too easy, including the Hall of Fame. Based on the low standards, in 100 years all these honors will be meaningless because you're going to have a lot of players in and with retired jersey's. The league will be using triple digit jersey numbers soon.
