Patrick Peterson was on 98.7 today in an interview and he said some interesting things that Cards fans will be interested in.
- He was very positive on the new defense and stated it'll especially be good for himself -- Buc - Budda and Nkemdiche.
- When asked about the wide receivers, he stated JJ Nelson looks like an entirely different player running all the routes in the route tree as opposed to being just a one-dimensional player. He was very complimentary and quickly singled out JJ Nelson as someone who stood out as a wideout other than #11.
- Also cited Christian Kirk as a WR who "gets it" and you can tell he will be a good one.
- Pat said Brice Butler looked good until he was slowed by injury but when pressed if anyone else caught his attention besides the above, he couldn't name anyone else who stood out. I was obviously disappointed Chad Williams was not mentioned.
- PP21 said the TE room is the strongest since he has been here and seemed very excited about Seals-Jones. [NOTE my Comment: I know UDFA Anthony Vollert has also been impressing.]
- Lastly, he stated Josh Rosen "blew his mind" when he successfully ran the hurry up offense at the end of his 1st week of mini-camp. He was very impressed that Rosen could step up and do it that well as a rookie against 1st team defense.
P.S. He did mention the fact that he took money from Fitz on the golf course and Fitz shouldn't have poked "the bear" in chiding Patrick after Fitz played well at a Pro-Am earlier in the year.

Thx for transcribing the interview, hadnt known he gave one.
1. Not at all surprised Chad is a bust. What an awful pick by Keim.
2. Glad JJ is doing well. As frustrating as ol' stone hands has been, he does have unequaled speed. Would be HUGE if he figures it out.

Patrick did mention that the WR coach had been working with JJ and noted he has improved technique-wise on slants/digs and come-back routes. For someone with JJ's speed usually having the other team's 3rd or 4th corner playing off coverage, a "come-back" route are easy 8 - 11 yard receptions for 1st downs. Chad W. was definitely a reach as SK could have drafted him in the 5th round and it wouldn't hurt so much being a bust.

Good stuff stv. PP was also on the RE show where he talks in great detail about Josh and coach Wilks. There are two 2:30 minute clips on nfl.com if you want to check it out.

www.spotrac.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/patrick-peterson-7720/I listened to the interview as well today, and heard that the man's game is slowing down as he gains experience. At the end, I came away with a different thought (see link): 2018 may be PP21's last year due to contract issues by start of the NFL Year in 2019. PP21 he will be on the wrong side of the contract cash and inevitable player age curve after 2018. We all noted that PP21 was not killing WR's every Sunday in 2017. The young and fast talent is routinely pushing past PP21 in the flat. He had just 1 INT last year. It's only going to get harder for PP21.
