Reading this article made my Sunday: profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/06/24/josh-rosen-sam-bradford-helping-me-out-a-ton/Members of the old fan board may remember my optimal off season once it was clear Palmer was indeed retiring, and we would have a new HC and cut loose from Stanton and Gabbert as well. My dream scenario was 1) A vet mentor QB that wouldn’t hamstring our cap, specifically naming Josh McCown or Sam Bradford, 2) sign a young QB2 who was both a solid #2 but still had potential to possibly be more, and 3) trade up in the draft for one of the top QB’s not named Josh Allen. i was thrilled when we got Bradford on a short contract, that would not disrupt our rebuild cap year of 2019. My only concern was, would he be willing to mentor? Word was he did not with Wentz, but I felt this contract and situation made it different. I’m thrilled that from the text Sam sent Josh as soon as he landed in Phoenix to this article this morning, it looks like he’s all in on the mentor role. And what a perfect mentor, similar in build and offensive style and ability. i was happy about signing Glennon but concerned his signing might mean they wouldn’t still go after a rookie QB aggressively. THRILLED beyond words when we not only did trade up, but somehow were able to get Josh at #10 for peanuts. I was not one concerned about Rosen’s personality once I watched his interviews and read up on him. My only concern remains injury. With no red flags so far regarding Wilks, my view of a strong draft even beyond Rosen, and the health of so many players coming back I’m beginning to feel the optimism I had when Arians was our new HC and Palmer was signed. Cant wait for this season to start.

I think Bradford is going to work out just fine as a QB mentor and every down player until Rosen gets his chance to play. Keim and Wilks are co-managing the day to day team optics just fine this spring and summer. So far, there are no embarrassing team or player incidents, no red flags about attitudes and work ethics, etc. As you suggest, DH, optimism is on the rise. In sum, the quiet precedes sea storm, a Red Sea storm that is going to be exciting to watch.

I couldn't be much happier with the off-season so far mostly for the reasons stated in the op.... QB room is an upgrade over last season imo. We have a QBotF.... the other draft picks look solid and I'm happy with the coaching staff that Keim assembled starting with Wilks and the coordinators.

I would like to share and echo the sentiments made here surrounding the team, the coaching and personnel changes made to date and the upcoming season.
I have the same sense and tingling feeling about our Cardinals this upcoming season that I had before the 2008 season.
We had a lot of questions surrounding that 2008 team, would the starting QB be the veteran or the rookie QB from southern California ?
We were ignored and dismissed as contenders by the "experts" in 2008. Chris Collingsworth where are you...I need you right now !!!!
We are flying low and under the radar again and I believe that we are going to surprise the NFL in 2018 just like we did in 2008.
We have the other 31 teams in the NFL exactly where we want them !
The only difference this time around is that the outcome of the Super Bowl in Atlanta on Sunday, 3rd February 2019 is that our Cardinals will be raising the Lombardi trophy !

My optimism is with Rosen. I think we finally hot a home run on our QBOF. I have a feeling he is going to turn out better than maybe 3 or 4 QB drafted in the last 8 years or so
Still have a lot of work to do on the rest of the team though. Lot of places where we need an up grade on both the starters and back ups. O line, LB, WR and DE is the main 4 positions. Forgot TE also. So while there is optimism once again, it's tempered. Just glad BA and his gang are no longer here. His time had run it's course. He did a lot of good for the Cards when they needed it, but I just didn't see winning a SB with him as head coach. In a lot of ways to inflexible and to set with his guys. We all know more than one of his coaches were just plain not up to NFL caliber.
So while I look forward to this year. I think next year with another solid draft and SK working some on securing solid vets. That will be the year the Cards once again take off.

I liked the BA era. It was fun and exciting to watch. But, I wonder how much of a hindrance BA was on certain personnel. Like SK, I wonder if he would have made different pick in some rounds without the "Whisperer" in his ear. When watching the Flight Plan video of the draft, Wilks tries to urge SK to get a defensive player, but he stuck with his pick. I wonder if BA would suggest/demand certain players from SK, like Logan Thomas (awful **cough cough**). Who knows, would BA want SK to draft Rosen, or would he want to pass on him because of size, arm strength or whatever reason he previously gave.

Getting Rosen in the draft renewed my optimism, and quite frankly so did getting several players back, and the new coaching staff. I'm glad the former era of Palmer and Arians is over. It was time. I felt like Arians lost the team after the shafting in Charlotte.

I felt like Arians lost the team after the shafting in Charlotte. I share and wholeheartedly agree with you regarding our previous coach and the debacle in Charlotte. I also believe that the impact of the new coaching staff, and their approach to coaching and preparing this team, will see this team do a lot better than most people are predicting.
