I don't own either one of these but would love a Dodge Viper however the wife says the next time we get a car we are going to get a Rhino. The Rhino is freaking amazing. Of course I currently do own this car.

My best friend in High School had a 66 Goat. OMG, did we ever put work into that car. It started off with the factory 389 but eventually we put a 455 H.O. engine from a wrecked Trans Am. So much torque from that Big Block. I have thought of looking for one, but they are so expensive nowadays. I remember the "JUDGE", it came in Bright Orange and Forest Green. That was a pretty cool car. It was a fast car. My choice for my first car was between the 59 Corvette I bought and a 67 Goat. Believe it or not, the Corvette was less expensive than the Goat, so I went with the Vette.
911 and Jag? Looks like you favor top end speed in your cars. Not sure about the 911, but I bet that Jag was one smooth ride at high speeds.
My 911 isn't a turbo. It's fast but the beauty of it is the balance and handling. The newer ones are getting bigger and are more a touring car than a true sports car. They're really fast but I don't really think they're better. I'm not crazy about the new Porsche's. I never drove the old jags I just loved the look of the XKE. It was just a unique and beautiful car. The Goat was an absolute beast. I wrecked it running a red light. It took my mother years to get over that. I had a friend who owned a 69GTO original and still has it. Sadly if you're really into speed, electric is going to blow all of these cars away. I was recently punked by a Tesla on the 101. It was embarrassing. I really love the overall look and feel of the fifties Corvette. The seats, the dash, the entire feel of the car was timeless. I think it's the best US true sports car ever made in terms of design in and out. I would love to own one. Before we all die, most gas-powered passenger vehicles will be off the road and replaced by electric-powered vehicles. The few fossils left on the road will have vintage plates, be taxed out the whazoo, and be almost impossible to fuel up. We know now that electrics are far cheaper to build and maintain. And as you say, the electric's on-demand power is amazing, until the battery juice is exhausted. In my neighborhood, probably 20% of the passenger vehicles are hybrids or all electrics. My wife talks about switching from gas to electric when we buy the next ride. She's the boss, you know. Electrics are gonna happen. I have 3 Benz today: ML350 SUV diesel, C300 h/t, SL550 convertible. Maintenance costs = $$$$ per year...that alone makes me wonder why I'm not electric already.

The SL550 is a really nice car for touring if you can fit your suitcase in the backseat with the top down? It's also really safe which for a low profile car like that is nice. I like to drive my 911 fast and I always know if I hit something it's over. I'm definitely going to buy an electric vehicle. The 911 is a toy that I hope to own for the rest of my life. In my household we drive 2 SUV's. One of them is going to be replaced in the next 2 years with an electric. I can see using the electric for 90% of my driving. I still want the freedom of being able to do long distance drives without worrying about re-fueling or waiting an hour to get a decent charge. I think you still need at least one gas powered car until the charging is much faster and there's more infrastructure for charging. If your wife wants one, you're pretty much in. It's just a matter of time. Don't get rid of the 550.

In order to do that, it must have a stiff suspension. From my experience, upgrading suspensions on my Camaros, I lost the smooth ride but gained that "hug the turns" like a roller coaster. I don't mind the 'I always know if I hit something".

I don't mind the 'I always know if I hit something". It goes around corners at blazing speeds. You basically down shift and hammer it in turns to almost any speed you can handle. Since the engine is in the back you can spin out a bit but recovery is pretty easy and instant. At least in the Camaro you have some steel in-between you and the front lights. In the Porsche if you hit something it's going to be in the back seat. It's basically a go cart with an amazing transmission coupled with a small 6 that puts out over 400HP with out a turbo.

I have never been in a Porsche or driven one. But I sort of knew that.

I know this is a thread on cars. Fast and electric cars...etc....
But when we talk about fast cars on here, I think about a post I saw in the forum awhile back.
There are some ex Fighter Pilots on here. Wow! Talk about fast, that must be totally incredible!
I would love to be a passenger in a fighter jet. I don't care if I pass out or puke!!!! Ha Ha Ha. Yes, that is on my Bucket List!!!
