I understand you need some back up O linemen who can play multi8ple positions. But. I want my starters getting all their reps at only one position. Now if he stays at center fine. Just don't be switching him from center to guard and back. I don't know of Boehm will ever be anything more than a back up. But his only real position is center. He was a guard his freshman year in college and started ever game that year. The next year Pinkle and the O line coach moved him to center where he flourished for 3 years in the SEC.

The BIG10 is where I watch most college football. Mason Cole was one of the guys I was hoping the Cards would pick. (So was Boehm before). He may never be a pro bowl centre, but think he can be a really solid starter for a good few years. His strength all seems to be in his lower body, which is perfect for Centre. I thought Boehm would be better at Guard as his upper body strength is more suited to there. They may not be big names and first day picks, but the Cards need solidity on the O line. I still hope both can be that.

Without justification because he hasnt played a single snap, I see Mason as being a Boehm clone.
In other words: too weak for the NFL. Strength is much more of a talent than simple weight lifting. And Boehm and Mason just dont have the ability to stop a bullrushing DT. Pretty clear busts.
Again, in fairness to Mason, he hasnt played yet. Ill give him time to prove himself.

I think Mason overcomes his leverage issue. He's a tough, smart player who can start at center. I think his height will make a difference once he gets his strength program down. Boehm is shorter like Ship.
