People keep saying they wouldn’t have gone for it on 4th. Which is accurate, but they would have been making different calls and approaching it all different. Nobody can say that they would have been in the exact 4th down situation. They knew they were using all 4 downs so called plays accordingly. If Cards cant stop them then they now need a TD with hardly any time left. Where with the 3 points, they could have them score TD and a FG for Cards still wins it.
I can see a case either way, but saying things would have played out the same way is just not accurate.

I can see a case either way, but saying things would have played out the same way is just not accurate. Knowing what we know today, I still would have gone for the TD on that 4th and 4 play. The odds of making the TD were slim and we knew it at the time. I understand why JG took the FG and the points. The extra 3 points forced the Vikings to score a TD to beat the Cardinals. JG had faith in the Cardinals D to keep the Vikings out of the end zone. The D was effective for much of the game. My hat is tipped to the Vikings for getting the job done. At the end-of-game presser, JG was infuriated. Not because the D failed. But because the O failed with 1 minute to go. The team needed 40 yards to kick a FG. Murray and the offense looked like a bunch of clowns for the next 4 plays. The Murray floater pass for an INT sealed the deal for the Vikings.

When a team makes the needed plays the coach is a genius and when they do not…the door is open for the experts (who are not experts) to question the choices.
The Cards have pee’d down their proverbial leg since the bye week and are up against it to make the playoffs. The team is better than some have expected…the third youngest roster and K1 who has been inconsistent.
The reality is JG is a defensive coach and will not take risks like BA would…Is one better than the other? As fans we like the “risk it”. I have seen some good results in the Lovey Smith approach of Tampa two to death and vanilla offense…even to win a SB. Most Card fans want the Warner air game where all the WRs put up big numbers….it isn’t in the DNA of JG IMO.
Under 5 plays per game decide who win in many games…the Cards didn’t make the plays needed to win and the better team lost…the players on both teams know the loser dominated the victor for the majority of the game…Vikings are a solid team and they beat the Cards…there are positive for the Cards the way they played….no moral victories…BEAT the C-CHICKS
