The new staff has taken a spread offense and turned it into a monster of smash mouth offense.
A reminder post game of how the Cards are viewed outside the desert. There is shock and awe by fans and media of the Cards domination. How could the mighty Bears get dominated by an okay 4-4 team with a short spread offense QB.
The Cards are now the owner of Hail Mary 50 + yard rush to end a half and gut the will of a team.
It is refreshing that the NFL has hid the Cards from the masses.
Shock and awe from fans and media who do not know who the Cards are.
We talk Card FB all the time on this forum and fail to see how poorly the Cards are viewed by most FB fans.
The Cards are not what they thought they were… for those who don’t understand they may have to crown their *ss as they get submitted by a smash mouth team.

I think a lot of why the Cardinals get no respect from the media has to do with anytime they start to buy into the Cardinals hype train, we poop the bed and make them look bad. The inconsistency of this team to put a successful run of winning seasons together has been a problem since day one. We have to start stringing together winning seasons and be the team that free agents and draftees is want to come play for. Once that happens, we'll see more respect from hard core football fans and media. Ownership, the FO and coaching is the big issue. I remember with Arians we finally started seeing some potential for long term success but then other franchises started poaching our coaches, players retired and Bidwill and Keim just couldn't figure out the staffing issues to continue and maintain that success. Arians politely claimed health issues for retiring but I have to believe it was the disconnect between Ownership and the Front Office that got him thinking it was time to move on.
It also doesn't help when our stadium is packed with opposing teams fans either, that needs to change but since Arizona is such a melting pot for people from the North East to hang out during the winter or retire, it's going to be tough.

I agree with you…the new phase of ignorance is fans and media not expecting the Cards to be smash mouth. The current Cards are bullies on offense and it creates a different shock and denial from opponents fans and podcasters. They have a hard time digesting the results. There has to be a fear within the NFC as well as they look at the game tape. One player who is all over the run tape is Tip… he isn’t used as a receiver and is allowed to focus on taking out defenders. The most frustrating part of defending is when offensive players initiate the contact and bully them around. When Tip is taking out players like Bosa and Warner or whoever is in the path he clears them out…at this point there is tape on it and the defenses have not been able to overcome his physicality. The post game blaming of the opposition is rather funny rather than giving the Cards the credit.

Yeah, this... Past woes have proven a spread offense is hard to have NFL consistency with and there are few Curt Warner’s. The new bully ball is a more sustainable philosophy in the NFL.

We have too many people moving here that is the problem they were fans of other teams. If the team keeps doing what they are doing some of the fans will start sporting cardinal gear. Have to win the valley over.

You're killin' it today MTD! That end of half run by Demercado, that had Card fans screaming in delight, simultaneously mangled the hopes of Bears fans, media and all those that had plunked down hard earned cash thinking it was an easy way to double their money. It was an exquisite play, put in action by Petzing at the perfect moment, with dramatic results. Another huge thing resulted from it that I'm thinking of making a thread about. It's mid-season, and this game was a formal invitation to those fans that need a bit of a boost to finally get on board. Of course there are always the doubting Thomas' that cannot decide.

...since Arizona is such a melting pot for people from the North East to hang out during the winter or retire, it's going to be tough. BINGO! The character of AZ changed radically in the post-WWII years for exactly that reason. Before then, folks usually stayed where their roots were. Now they also come from all over the world to find employment as well, or to escape some overbearing authority or social pressure - yet they want to keep all the behaviors which they fled and think it won't matter. Crazy? It won't stop until we either run out of water or no longer offer a better life, OR they all give up their former habits, customs and completely change attitudes and loyalties. The later "native born" population knows nothing of what Arizona used to be, so they think all is well and normal because Mom and Pop think it is. Progress? Apologies for the sermon. IMHO as a grumpy old man... and FWIW.

IMHO as a grumpy old man... and FWIW. In Montana a hard winter would drive out the warmer climate transplants. Not so much anymore. A few generations of former rural residents get culture shock when it changes. Phoenix area is no different… it is not the numbers as Phoenix where I live, but the change is similar. It is beyond cities, states and countries…I have traveled even back to European countries and Central America and the different migrations affect the locals. I joked when in Ireland it took a couple hundred years before they let our family return for a visit. Finland was more welcoming. I have come to realize we are all transplants even if we were established for a few generations. Once things change they keep changing… no matter how much it may bother us. Many coastal communities and Florida have had population explosions and many can only remember the good old days that are no longer. Knobby your frustration is not unique. Embrace the suck. No rewinding. I was happy to have had glimpses of the frontier without the struggle of the pioneers. I can attest that some of it really happened and some of my close relatives were able to give eye witness. It is a different Wild West now…
