He should finish his career as a cardinal. The guy gives his all and is great for the young players watching his effort. I feel pretty good about the guy's that will replace when the time comes. This team is hard to defend when Conner and McBride get going along with well designed plays for KM. Defintely want to see more playaction when we are running the ball best time for the playaction.

Some of the vet moves which I hope takes place for 2025 - - Sign JC to one year deal (maybe with a team option for 2nd year) around $8.5-9M/APY.. Transition tag is around $9.8M if team chooses to use that tag since the NFL doesn't value RB's especially at JC's age so it is unlikely would jump at JC with that price tag.
- Jalen Thompson needs to take a pay cut as a $13.750,000 cap hit is too much for his productivity. Speaking of safety salaries - cut Jalen Thomson salary down to $9M or less and let Budda see if he can get more than that on open market (doubt it).
- Sign Budda for about 2 Yr. $16.5M as a box safety who is deficient in coverage is not worth much over $8M/APY.
- McBride extension of 3 Yr. $48M
- Don't resign Prater but sign Chad Ryland
- Do NOT resign Zach Pascal
- IN 2026 - dump J. Jones/Nichols/SMB but their cap hits are too much in 2025.

Everyone thought Derrick Henry would fall off and he like JC is still smashing folks. He runs violent worries me a little but that is his game and he is good at it.

IMO James would need a bare minimum of 11 or 12M to retain on a yearly basis. Someone posted recently the terms that very good, older RB's were playing under this year after signing with new teams and the lowest was 11+.

Derrick Henry who is age 30 signed with the Ravens for 2 Yrs. $16M while Saquon Barkley signed for $12.5/APY but is 2 1/2 yrs. younger than JC. Both of these vets were drafted much higher than JC so I don't think my #'s are out of line with the market. The Transition Tag can by used and will probably be right around $9.75M and allows the Cards the option to match any other team's offer so Monti has that in his hip pocket. I would not JC for Saquon Barkley money due to less stature in the NFL and being younger.

Have you seen the broke tackles stat showing JC beating every other RB by 34%? Do you consider other things that demonstrate Conner deserves special consideration? I'm not saying back up the armored car here. Your number is low balling him IMO. "Less stature in the NFL"? Lol.

Again same Question as before: How old was John Riggins when the Redskins won SB 17? Answer: 33 yrs old.
Riggins was known for his "bell cow" running style and productivity well into the later years of his career. In the 1983 season, at age 34, he rushed for a then-NFL record of 24 touchdowns, a record which stood for almost 20 seasons. Riggins again led the league in rushing touchdowns during the 1984 season at age 35. Although he earned only one Pro Bowl appearance in his career, Riggins had his greatest success in the postseason and was named MVP of Super Bowl XVII where he scored one touchdown and rushed for 166 yards in a 27–17 win for the Redskins over the Miami Dolphins.
James Conner has the grit and running style of John Riggins. You don't let players like them just walk away because of "RBs are a dime a dozen" mentality in this pass happy league.

There are always outliers. I do think Conner has an extra something that lends to success. The guy beat cancer and is doing this. But age always eventually hits RBs and it’s usually around 28-30.

I totally agree with you. So much so that I didn't even bother to comment on the other thread questioning whether he should be resigned or not.
