In my life I have come to understand the universe or my concept of the universe is best described as intelligence, love, and beauty. Although chaos is universal it is kept in check with intelligence, love and beauty. When I view football there is intelligence, love and beauty when it is played with a low level of chaos. One of the things that attracts me to the new staff is the intelligence, love and beauty they bring to a rather chaotic team or organization historically.
I've had an appreciation from the early player press conferences and their expressions of the accountability the new coaches hold them to. Since the 2023 preseason and through the year there was a hope K1 would be different when he came off his injury. In 2023 there were signs of intelligence and love in the play of the Cards. It had a void of beauty with the results in the majority of the games...with the actual results or wins and losses. The balance is to win then the beauty becomes apparent. Wins do matter and are attainable with winning behavior. FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) is overcome with intelligence. Getting people to understand the knowns the what is unknown diminishes. Diminishing returns is an obvious result to avoid. I have more confidence in the Cards based on the intelligence, love and beauty being revealed in the football being played.
It is impossible to predict the outcomes and the wins. There is a revealing of many positive things taking hold in the play and performance of the Cards. The two upcoming FAs Budda and Conner from a pure financial standpoint may have a dim chance of returning. With a balanced intelligent understanding of their love of the game and the beauty they bring to the team...from my perspective...would be difficult not to retain.
Chaos seems to be on the bench currently...it is always in the lurk...I have confidence in the Cards. I enjoy the love of the game being revealed in the Cards play...there has been inconsistency...the intelligence, love and beauty is apparent in the team's approach.

Bringing order to a game that quite often can be seen as "chaotic". It's the first time I've read anything like that and sometimes I have to take the time to digest, Lol. Regardless, I believe there is TRUTH in what MTD is conveying, and that is what's important to me. Thank you Mr. Diesel.

I enjoy the glimpses of seeing the coaches finding a way to make the mundane interesting for the players who are elevated to mondaine status by many. Getting a group of men to buy into team and no detail mundane is a sign of intelligence in action by those who love football and it is a thing of beauty.

You are now officially to be known as PLATO OF THE NORTH. My, my, my! Deep. Although I believe Plato missed on the most important source of intelligence and that source having creation screaming of his existence and Plato's transitory thoughts on exiting life over resurrection...I do think he touched on truth, his miss on the source of intelligence and love was too much for me to give him much credit over expressing human observation. There are some areas I credit him for expressing and they have endured the test of time. Here are a few: Implementing these teachings can help us minimize anguish, remain calm amid chaos, find purpose in community, and progress towards the ideal of human flourishing. 1. Pursue Wisdom and Truth Above All Else Plato believed that the pursuit of wisdom and truth should be the highest aim in life. He felt that through reason, logic, and contemplation, one could discover timeless, universal truths. This contrasts with a life spent chasing fleeting pleasures or material goods. Plato would urge us to spend our days learning, questioning, and expanding our minds. The examined life is the only one worth living. 2. Live a Life of Moderation Stoics like Plato preach temperance, self-restraint, and moderation in all things. Avoid excess and find balance. Do not overindulge in food, drink, sensual pleasures, wealth, possessions, or other temptations. Excess leads to loss of self-control and makes you dependent on external things for happiness. Moderation provides an inner steadiness and self-sufficiency. 3. Control Your Emotions and Desires The Stoics believed in maintaining emotional equilibrium by not attaching to extreme highs and lows. Do not let your mood fluctuate with external events. Practice inner calm, level-headedness, and objectivity. Also control impulsive desires and appetites. Direct your will towards virtue rather than chasing unhealthy cravings. Master your emotions and desires, do not become mastered by them. 4. Be Just and Virtuous Plato felt that the four cardinal virtues were wisdom, courage, moderation, and justice. Aim to live a just, ethical life guided by wisdom and integrity. Treat others fairly and fulfill your role in society virtuously. Justice creates order and harmony. Each person doing their part leads to an optimally functioning whole. 5. Accept What You Cannot Change The Stoics spoke of fate and predestination. We should accept the things that are beyond our control. Do not waste energy wishing circumstances were different. Instead, focus on what you can control – your thoughts, attitudes, and actions. Adapt and make the best of each situation rather than resisting and struggling against the inevitable. I have little confidence in predestination...yet the thought and premise of accepting what we can not change is great advice. As Plato stole from others and was able to communicate universal truth...I do steal from others thoughts and use them to express my views of universal truth as I perceive it to be with the hope of inclusion over exclusion of others and their perceptions. JG has a stoic quality and his process over result based approach is a very wise and refreshing way to coach men in the greatest team sport.

As Plato stole from others and was able to communicate universal truth... "Stealing" from those who have lived before us is really just learning/schooling, IMO. One big problem is ignoring what our predecessors words and deeds did to help or harm society, then repeating the same costly errors all too often. We are taught in life from the thoughts, actions and work of others, yet few of us seem able or willing to absorb all those lessons have to offer. Thus, friction between us continues and we remain shackled by ego, greed and lust for wealth and power, while the world 'advances' in technology and destructive ability. Do we really become smarter, or too smart to survive? One might think we as a species are far from being mature and truly intelligent, even regressing in some areas. When we re-write the truth of history to suit the fads and whims of the present, when we destroy physical reminders of our past for being uncomfortable to observe or think about, the seeds of a dark future are sown. No more on this topic from me.

In keeping with the FB theme...the Waterboy's mamma might say dark waters run deep. I thought it was, "still waters run deep", but no matter, because - - - - Who listens to a Waterboy, let alone his mama? OOPS, Waterperson! Based on your comment....there was more dark than still. LOL The hope is intelligence and love counter the chaos and lies by those void of such qualities. Too many idiots have considered themselves intellectuals...their actions and what they promote prove otherwise. A thought from Plato is to be part of the solution...do your part as an individual. As in team sports...it is impossible to play all the positions at once. Have confidence that you doing your part assists as others catch up or play their part or position. As a line from the movie Gladiator "What can I do as a slave bound in chains do?" Many times we set the limits or allow our limitations as per environment and condition to prevent us from doing what we should do or have positive expectations against tall odds. To allow a helpless thought to overtake is submitting to defeat. Back to am I a product of my environment like a common animal is or although made up of the same physical material of an animal can I use the material given each human by the source of all intelligence who created us in his image to rise above a less than perfect environment and be more than an animal.
