This happens every year with fans of every sports team but it's still amusing that you're the Cardinals are tied for first place in their division and undefeated in the division after eight games in spite of the glaring weaknesses on the roster and two games in which the Cardinals didn't look like they even wanted to play is amazing. I am a very opinionated person and I for one don't want to hear anything else negative about the little dude. He is shown again that when he is healthy and as the minimum time to throw the ball he can play at an MVP level. Is he perfect? Of course not. What you get it appears that the Cardinals team will be at a crossroads after this season. They're obvious learning weaknesses on the roster, namely interior offensive line, defensive line, lack of pass rush and inexperienced secondary in general. In the past the Cardinals have been in this situation many times and they have not drafted or brought in free agents according to what they really needed. So here's my humble opinion, the Cardinals do not need to draft a wide receiver or bring in a free agent wide receiver next year. Not one. They don't need any more tight ends. I would be fine with them taking a running back into later rounds because as great as Connor has been he does have a shelf life and we've been sending up for the other guys yet to say they're the man. It is time the Cardinals put some real effort into improving the offensive line and everyone knows we have to have some pass rushers and interior defensive linemen. So as I said here we are tied for first place in the division. This could turn out to be a really good year for the Cardinals.

I think Monti will help rebuild the trenches through the draft. The upcoming draft class has some good depth with regard to the front 7 next year. He doesn't seem to be afraid of drafting the less glamorous positions.
Overall, I am not impressed with our FA acquisitions last offseason, but I'm wondering if that is more of a Dave Sears issue. Monti was the one signing contracts though.
In addition, next year's free agemt class is not deep at DL. There are some edge prices to be had, but we'll have to see who actually makes it to market.

I have to say it has felt good to see the cards respond very well to some pretty poor performances and I think they are gaining confidence. They are not quitting and that has to show good leadership and players that care about their performance putting that together makes for a great formula. Yes the oline has to continue to be beefed up we are seeing what effect it has had for the lions. I allowed myself to get very negative when I saw a team I felt was tailspinning like in the past I am glad I was wrong. I am at a full pause on judgement because I am seeing coaching that is solid and a lot of heart from the players. The road is not easy we have to deal with another good defense this week but feel we can. We are young and getting better we are headed the right direction and need to continue to improve and add key players either through trades or free agency and the next draft.I hope the little dude can elivate his game, this bears defense is not a good match for us but with the way Kyler can drive a defense nuts we need that this weekend.

I would not get too wrapped up on defending K1 or trying to turn those who have a hatred for him. His play speaks louder than the critics. As per the 2025 draft there are 3 players I would love to see picked in the draft. Ty Robinson Nebraska 6”6” 315LBs originally from Glendale, Landon Jackson 6’7” 280 LBs Arkansas and LSU prior, and Jordan Burch 6’6” 290 LBs Oregon and SC prior. If the Cards added these three the dynamic of the defense would be altered in a positive way. Having these 3 with DDob would elevate the DL and eliminate a void in the roster and make the other areas of the defense better. None of the 3 are huge stats guys… all are physically dominant and are team guys. That’s my two cents for the 2025 draft with LT addressed in 2023 and CB, #1 WR and OL depth addressed in 2024. I would have no issue re-signing Budda and Conner Ang get 2 more years from them. Their leadership is worth the signing.

It's a tired old trope that our O line is bad.
2nd best in total QB pressures (71), only 3 more than the Chiefs. 5th best in QB pressure % (26.8 %)
They've performed very very well.

I don’t think it’s “bad”, but if you watch the Oline specifically they are not keeping a pocket clean for very long. I’m interested in which stats site you use. Sharp Football Analysis does a deep dive play by play and is used by gamblers and hard core fantasy guys with money on the line. They currently rank our Oline 31st. My eye test says we’re around #20. Football guys gives us #25. ProFootballNetwork #21. I’ve given my opinion that much of our Oline success, such as no sacks these last few games, have a LOT to do with Kyler’s scrambling ability, Conner’s ability to pick up blocks on pass plays, and help from Tip Reiman. That all sort of counts as Oline, but when it comes down to the five guys we have at LT, LG, C, RG and RT I am only satisfied with two of them. Jonah Williams TBD. We do have some young Oline player backups who could emerge, something we don’t have on defense. Where I think we can all agree is we need major upgrades on the defensive line.

One observation from my sight is the pulling of OL in pass pro is a prelude to a run scheme not really being taken advantage of by the Cards. A team like the Bears can be slashed by counter run. They have had some counter in 2024 and expanding the use of counter could add value to Conner's success and also open lanes and angles for Kyler on keepers off counter. With Benson's speed an open counter lane could open big chunk plays.

Most collapse, and my eye test shows Kyler has some decent time. He has happy feet (scared) and doesnt hang long. I think if he had more composure he can stay in the pocket longer. Of course he does well scrambling though. I also see nice holes for James. He also has a lot of yards after contact, I believe first in the league.

Kyler does has happy feet and being a little, fast guy naturally gets scrambling once he feels pressure and begins losing his site-lines. I’m a guy who starts counting in his head and sometimes audibly when the ball snaps. Drives my wife crazy. I’ll just say that my eye…taking into account that Murray is who he is…doesn’t have a ton of time to make a down field throw unless he scrambles to give himself time and vision. I’ll check out Harris! Thx.

You’re not wrong. Murray has learned to deal with his stature his entire life as an athlete. And he got really good at overcoming those limitations with the incredible athleticism that made him a top 10 MLB draftee and #1 NFL pick. It’s muscle memory and it is what it is. That’s why I say we have to have Olinemen who can adapt to far more than keeping a picket clean.

I would think opposing teams would want KM in the pocket and keep the middle of the OL engaged so he has no passing lanes on shallow crossing routes. It has to be ridiculously tough to block for him on passing downs and be expected to not only open up those lanes but also keep defenders engaged so they can't put their hands up all while keeping an eye on whether or not KM is scrambling or not. I bet they secretly cheer on every down where we are running the ball and they can straight up run block.

Another myth is the Cards need short OL players in front of K1...not true. One advantage all short backs (QBs and RBs) have is the where is Waldo factor. DBs and DL players can lose him in the pocket and not be able to read his eyes.
