www.windycitygridiron.com/2024/11/1/24285103/the-bears-den-november-1-2024I rean across this Windy City podcast blast early this Friday morning, November 1. There are many Bears devotees with something interesting to say about the Bears situation. One item that surprised me is the increasing calls to replace HC Eberflus after the season. It all started when rookie Caleb Williams' dad went online and lit a torch to the Bears coaching staff. That's just what the team does not need: a QB's meddling father who pulled the same trick against the USC coaching staff when his son wasn't the Los Angeles Times sports page phenomenon every weekend. Lastly, I noted this nugget about the Bears offense: The Bears offense goes into a game with Arizona with 10 first-quarter points after 8 games. That's just 10 points scored in the equivalent of two games. If the Cardinals play ball control, the Bears might not score 5 points on Sunday.

People are really funny about their sports teams. Almost everyone here was expecting this to be a rebuilding season with maybe six to eight wins. Yet here it is with the very obvious glaring weaknesses on the roster and after eight games the Cardinals are tied for first in their division. They could still end up with only six wins but I think the Cardinals have this one. Cardinals 31 bears 17.

One of the teams wins by a FG so I am gonna be a homer 20-17 Cardinals Bears D is pretty good avoid turnovers and stay in this game. Limit their Running game and make the young Qb beat you.

It sounds like you might be overlooking the "gauntlet" the team had to fight through in order to arrive where they are. This 2nd half of the schedule is a lot different than the first half.

I think every game in the NFL is tough. Whether its a banged up 49er team or Rams team.... every game brings unique problems. Can we solve these problems and come out with a win? That is the answer we need. Against the Bills and Lions, we were close but didn't solve the problems but our four wins had problems and we solved them. I'm not counting the Packers and Commanders because we just weren't prepared to play. Consistency, confidence, and staying healthy can play an important part of where we finish. Let's hope for a game where we come out to play, stay healthy and WIN!

Kurt Warner picked the Bears to win because of their Defense...
As I mentioned in a previous post...I don't think the Bears Defense is as good as rated to be. The most points they have allowed is 21 points.
I say that the Cardinals score between 27 and 30 points and expose that their Defense is not as good as it is rated.
So, after the game I will know if Kurt Warner is better than me at analyzing their Defense...ha ha ha...(I will probably regret this post after the game...but what the hell.)

And the result is in....
We have joint winners on top of the podium today, so TWO GOLD medals to hand out-
GOLD MEDAL - jeffcardinalfan (prediction 31 - 17) Margin of 10 GOLD MEDAL - Pendy (same prediction of 31 - 17) (I think a case of 'two great minds think alike')
BRONZE MEDAL - flash (prediction 28 - 20) Margin of 12 with Cardinal margin of 1
Honorable mention (4th) - End Zone (prediction 31 - 19) Margin of 12 with Cardinal margin of 2 (sorry EZ, in racing speak you were pipped by a nose)
The margin scores were quite high this week, which is unsurprising and as a result of the Cardinal Defense restricting the Bears to just nine points. We had twelve members predicting a Cardinal victory and each of these had Chicago scoring within a tight range, between 17 and 23). Only one poster had the visitors winning; hence an increasing confidence all round.
Thanks to all who took part.
The Cards appear to be on a roll and the fanbase are likely to be supercharged this coming weekend...
