First of all we are BACK! No team has been kicked around and maligned as Cardinals. The perfect dumped for a kicking dog that the press loves. Certainly a lot of this has been deserved. But, when MB decided to clean house and picked Monti to lead this franchise this was a brilliant move. He hired coaches that were much maligned (particularly in Philly). These new coaches love to “ball”, players that are team first team and play with violence and passion. With the super number of injuries and rag tag D line, they don’t quit and fight like junk yard dogs to the gun. Monti made it no secret this was a rebuild from beginning, no SK reload with old aged stars. Build this team through the draft, get younger-much younger. Bring in players that fit the new team identity and not go into over paying frenzy with FA.
Now we are almost unbelievably at 4-4, technically in first place with have 2-0 in the division. The kinks have started to iron out with the passing attack, the Miami game was just the tonic this team needed. Second half not looking good. K1 goes to Petzing- turn me loose and put this on me and I will win this game. In turn he unleashed MHJ, he with speed and power. Also great use of Trey McBride IMO if not the best he is right there. To me the second half should be and needs to be the blue print for the rest of this season. Yes, running game very important but not most important. Probable 60/40 pass/run ratio.
It’s TIME for Monti to play SK for one day. With trade deadline looming we are in desperate need of help on the DL and Edge. The D as fought with limited resources, being overmatched most of time. No real pass rush from the edges. The Cardinals should be and needs to be buyers, I first looked at Titans- Harold Landry should be available for 4th rounder. Ojulari from Giants the brother of our BJO, take a 3rd rounder.
If we can make a move to grab a DE, Have DRob back this second half. We have excellent chance to make playoffs.

I’d rather see JG and crew get more out of who they have. Many FA’s take time to blend in or are trash…no easy button…get the players on the roster in a groove.
Having to sign players from bad teams isn’t the solution.

Us fans needed it too, but I think its huge for the team. The players/coaches are human, and they need to be reenforced that their effort is worth it. Even though things looked bleak at times, they stuck together and didn't give up ( unlike some fans ). It paid off. They will remember that. It was good for us, but even better for the team.

Having to sign players from bad teams isn’t the solution. I pretty much agree with you. I'm not a big fan of signing free agents, especially mid-season. I'm not saying it never makes sense, just do your due diligence. Make sure whoever you are considering can be a long-term contributor and not some stop gap guy. If that's all they are, promote from within. Maybe they won't work either, but they will be motivated and will show others on the team...work hard and you will get your chance.

For the most part I’d agree. I’d rather spend cap money on a player in FA 2025 than cap money plus picks or players on a mid-year addition. But if you truly believe that player could get you to the playoffs, or further in the playoffs, you have to consider it. A legit pass rusher or run stuffing Dlineman who can also create pressure might do that.

Monti is actively seeking a DE. They can taste the hunt for a playoff spot. and why not given the brutal schedule that we had at the beginning of this season and still be in technically in first place is amazing.

If MO is actively seeking a DE, he's doing it on the cheap. And no good DE will sign for peanuts. Yes, playoffs is being talked about again. People are giddy. However, be careful opening Christmas presents in October. The might be some disappointment. Like a lump of coal, or a mouse and some moldy bread (e.g. "Christmas Carol").

Next we need as much draft capital as we can get not trade it away.

But the offense is really good but it's only 6th in total offense. our defense is 23rd and making plays. Our offense is 12th so just maybe this team is on its way up. We have played a brutal schedule so far and we start to get a little relief as the season goes on so just maybe we peak late like 2008.

There are odors in the air indicating that could be the plan in place now. Or is my nose too far gone? If you were GM would you make those trades ? I wouldn’t unless I had to only give up 5th or later I am always in favor of giving up picks for players that make you better. I would like to find a team looking to dump a good player for a 4th or higher. I really would like draft capital to improve oline and Dline in the draft unless it can be done before trade deadline. Sometimes picks are gold but in a lot of cases they are fools gold. I am always for proven talent nothing less or draft young players.
