On Sunday I was going to say a game day thread with Aussie chirping in is like when you go watch a game with a bunch of your buddies and one guy brings the new girlfriend who has watched maybe three games, but she keeps chirping in with ridiculous questions and observations and it ruins the game for everyone. The obsession with Murray and the desire for him to perform poorly just so he can say “I told you so” seems pathological. Sorry I want the best for my team. Everyone has an opinion. If my opinion doesn’t line up with yours then that’s just life mate. Many on this board seem happy with an underachieving qb. And comparing me to someone’s “new gf” could be seen as sexiest. Might be against the forums terms and conditions… |

Back on topic...a reminder this thread is about MHJ and another reminder...many HOF players have had slow starts in their NFL career. I have no sense of being sorry for MHJ and it is up to him to get back on track and I trust he will.
Great players like Walter Payton had personal concerns he would succeed in the NFL with a slow start to his career and he had things in his own play he had to improve and overcome. MHJ is no different and there is an exposure of cracks in each player's game when playing against the best of the best.
MHJ will work it out. He isn't looking for sympathy and he knows he has to be great for the team. He also knows he has to be team first.

MHJ is going to be fine. Just turned 22 a few months ago. He has things to improve on, like all rookies.
IMO he needs to focus on not over-thinking and getting separation in his routes, contested catch success, and more involvement on plays not targeting him. As the boy becomes a man and he adds more bulk and toughness, contested catches will come easier and yards after catch will improve.
I just saw a chart of teams plotted on a graph with one axis being QB quality/success and the other top 3 WR room quality/success. Cardinals were at around #10 in QB and #16 in WR room. Last year our WR room was nearly dead last. We are now at #16 and our WR1 is 22 and WR2 is 24. We have a great TE as a 3rd receiving option. All 6’-2” to 6’-4”. Improve the Oline and keep the quality of RB that Conner gives us and the offense will be fine. Defense remains our weakness and we have plenty of cash and draft ammo to upgrade it.
