Just to change the subject slight RT Joe Alt #5 pick after MHJ played really good against us & his overall PFF is 70 he’s looking to be a perennial pro bowler Top 10 guys: Of the QBs, Caleb Williams has been average, Jayden Daniels spectacular, Maye poor, and Penix Jr and McCarthy not playing and merely projects. All five went in the top ten. Of the non-QB’s, Nabers looks great, MHJ looks good, and Odunze looks average but has 2 very good WR’s ahead of him, something Nabers and MHJ don’t have to deal with. OT Alt looks like a future stud and Latham average. Only Daniels, Nabers and Alt are really standing out. MHJ is probably 4th and due to 4 TDs not far behind Nabers and Alt. After the top 10 in the first round, the next four Olinemen we were talking about all look mediocre as rookies so far. Some barely playing. QB Bo Nix looks ok. TE Brock Bowers looks like the best TE in years, as many expected. Stud! On to defense, who went in the second half of the first, Latu looks good, Murphy II looks average, Turner rough, Verse great, and Chop Robinson mediocre. As for the early CB’s, Mitchell looks good, Arnold poor, and Wiggins meh. Late in the 1st, WR Thomas Jr is looking great, with 10 more receptions and 213 more yards than MHJ, matching his 4 TDs. All this to say there just aren’t many rookies who change a team Year 1. Maybe nine guys are impact starters, one of those being MHJ. We will see where DRob ends up as a rookie, but IR for the first 7 games is not a good start.

Excellent analysis If I was running the draft Alt is first pick 2nd Cooper Dejean When JJ Watt was on the team I was sure we would draft his brother TJ after all we had the “inside baseball” on him. I thought he was a sure thing & if turned out half as good as his brother it’s totally worth it. Back to the bolts. If Alt stays healthy they’ll have an anchor @ RT I’d rather have great OL then an excellent WR

This was my thought as well. The old what if. I watched Herbert disappoint in Oregon as well. Oregon was stacked more than OK when K1 was there. College doesn’t translate to NFL at times, but Herbert and K1 have translated and have had ups and downs. Herbert needs more support and better team than K1 does for success. The K1 hate will continue and it gets old. If a hen had nuts you’d call it a rooster. lol The Cards will role with K1 no matter how it disappoints some fans. I'm sure they will and you said it right it will lead to disappointment.

I remember Herbert being touted as the Ducks QB in 2019. He was massive at 6'6" and had an equally massive arm. FWIW, I pulled Herbert's stats for the last 3 games--1 home game followed by 2 road games. Herbert's thrown just 2 TDs in those 3 games. Vs. the Chiefs, he mustered 59% completions for 179 yards; Vs. the Broncos, he mustered 61% completions for 237 yards; and vs. the Cardinals, he mustered 69% for a whopping 349 yards--and lost the game as we know because the Chargers could not get the ball into the end zone even with a 6'6" QB gouging the Cardinals D on almost every pass play. So, I guess Murray probably is the better QB after his last 3 games. Let's roll with K1 the rest of the year. He is running the offense Harbaugh wants. Look at his career stats, he is a gun slinger but the team just kept getting worse the oline was horrible along with the defense. he was never given the team that could compete or stay healthy unfortunately for him. his Wr's could not stay healthy. Now look at his Wr corp with the chargers.

Harbaugh would not take Murray off Gannon's hands. Not even for free. We don't know that he wanted kapernick lol

In my humble opinion Herbert is the same quarterback that Philip Rivers Carson Palmer water. Good but not great. And none of these three had the it factor. Of course neither does the little dude but the little dude does have something extra but they did not that his ability to score running touchdowns of 50 yards.
Gannon is now had Murray for 15 games and one full off season. It is past time for him in the offensive coordinator The tweak the offense towards his strengths.

Lesser Qb's have won the sb our chances would increase in my opinion. I see a world of difference I think Kyler wears his emotions on his sleeve and I think that greatly affects him in becoming what he can be. I still think that is his biggest issue that and he is not good under pressure unless he pulls it downs runs it but not run it out of bounds after a few yds or taking a loss.

Compared to his pro QB years 1-3 those awful personality traits, I think Murray has improved in all facets of NFL QB performance across years 4-5 and part of year 6. What I mean is that Murray has learned to take fewer risks and has matured as a person. Murray is still held back by some physical things that he can never change. He takes fewer sacks today. He works harder at field practice. He still has problems reading defenses between the LBs and DBs 15-20 yards downrange. That is obvious by his recent passing; he seems to love the 5-10 yard zone. I don't like QBs who are gamers. I think they are wasting a lot of mental time dicking around with software games that teach nothing useful.

Yet Kyler is 2-0 v. Herbert. No matter who is hired to coach the chargers.
