KM will have a full complement of his WRs, TEs and RBs tonight. Now not having a fully healthy OL ALWAYS HURTS…But a “franchise QB” needs to work around that with proper reads and a full slate of offensive weapons on display. And, more importantly, his OC needs to call proper plays and formations that help his franchise QB utilize his talents correctly and his weapons effectively. I’ll be watching tonight to see if progress has been made by both the OC and the QB to make this offense and this organization relevant…of if they look for more excuses other then themselves like Rodgers and the Jets are doing these days.

Petzing has to put Murray under Center and force LAC to account for him as a passer and a runner. I expect the Cardinals pocket to be weak and collapse after 2.0 seconds. Murray has to roll out and I mean hit the gas on roll outs to avoid the DE rush. Outside, Murray has multiple options. If the Cardinals can get ahead of the Chargers by two scores, then Harbaugh will be forced out of his run-first offense. That should play into the Cardinals hands, similar to what happened with McVay and the Rams at Game 2.

Been calling for these type of formations and play calling since KM was drafted…along with shallow crossing routes to combine with the roll outs. But they just won’t do it…or don’t do it enough….and always default to shot gun straight drop back…against cover (2) defenses designed to keep KM in the pocket under heavy pass rush/blitz packages. I really can’t begin to imagine what a play caller like Shanahan and the 49ers would do with KM’s abilities…it’s really not all KM’s fault…an OC has to know his QB’s strength and weaknesses…KM’s strengths are his arm and his legs. His weaknesses are his vision, his height and his ability to see and read coverages. Roll him out…play him under center to be more deceptive and change your WR routes accordingly. Pretty simple. But don’t just place him (7 -(10) yards behind center to be a sitting duck with a porous OL in front of him. Not good….not good at all.

Knobby, how are you doing? Glad to see you are "activated" for tonight's game. I'm a bit drowzy (30 days since last back op) but will power through the next 9.5 hours and watch the entire game.

He’s also up against a team that has allowed 66total pts. The next best defense has allowed 103.

The OL in the Charger game again gave great fight and did their job. 2 backup starters and zero sacks. K1 deserves a ton of credit in the zero sacks. It was nice to see the run game hitting up the gut as well as outside zone.
The positive on MHJ was using him in the slot and changing up how he is used(more is required).
There was a mix of shotgun and under-center. With Mack at edge I understand any QB not wanting to turn his back on him in play action.K1 had better pocket play...he had to quick throw and throw off his base or on the run...the incompletions were better than sacks. Chargers defense is legit.
More work to do...a good win.

Commentators spoke about that sack being set up By The barbarians rush pushing the QB right in the Big Boys arms.
