Going off of Murray's success in the 8 games last year here. When no one was really talking about us not scoring pts. Even after getting blown out in first half vs CHi and PHI, we rebounded. We have the same offense, with the same personnel and same coaches. People have complained about Napier's huge disparity in targets vs Marvin Harrison. But he is on a team and an offensive that lacks our talent. I have noticed multiple situations so far that differ from our playcalling last year. 2nd and 10 Runs- Maybe the worst of it all success wise. I don't remember us doing this last year and it doesn't really make sense for the offense to keep the defense off the field. 2nd and 3 vs DET: We usually establish the run by giving it to Connor on 2nd and 3rd and short. It helps with ball control as well. People overlook the Murray INT play and how out of character it was for our offense to throw deep in a close tight game. This would never happen at PITT last year for instance. Lastly 4th and 1s Shotgun vs WAS: Even though Harrison scored on the TD, Petzing just realized a video where he said himself that it was a great catch and throw. But why are we in shotgun at 4th and 1 at the 1? Even if we don't give it to Connor, PA pass is a higher % play. Then on 4th and 1 in WAS territory Murray gets sacked. You can clearly see the WAS def line up with a 3 man front. Basically giving us the yard with Connor. It was perplexing to watch. Oh one more thing. Hope this isn't too long. We used Clayton Tune at least twice last year for the QB keeper on 4th and short and it was successful. Why not do this again? These things make no sense to me. If Kyler is at fault, it is for not audibling out of these plays.

K1 will Never audible out of any Shot gum formation. It is what he has used his whole Football carreer from Peewee league till Now. That is a Stubborn Mule Habit to break. And No Coach has done it yet! K1 Belives he is invincible in the Shot Gun Even when he gets sacked for Big losses.

My main concern is that he is audibling OUT of playing under center against Petzing's wishes. I'm not sure that's happening, but if it is then Gannon has to have a heart-to-heart with him and remind him about always embracing what is best for the TEAM.

Any guess what the odds are of that ever being accepted and done by KM?

In a lot of occupations, new blood is brought in to a well developed group of workers from, trade schools, etc. A common quote I have heard too many times when referring to the knowledge level of these new workers is, "How much does he know? JUST ENOUGH to be dangerous"!!

My desire to defend K1 and what is on him and what is on coaching took a hit last game. MB upon firing K2 said he was in the building working continually. Not said about SK. There was an advancement in K2’s offense and same old K1 issues in that game. To be fair I do believe the WRs are making some errors on route, reads and not getting separation. The thing that bothers me was K1’s social postings…he looks like a 12 year old in his actions outside FB. Do his parents live with him? I could see his dad being a problem in putting pressure on him…as per performance or accepting coaching. I hate to read too much into things, but there are tels if you are observant. K2 is a good coach and may have learned more after being fired as well as Dan Q. The Cards laid an egg and across the team it brought up bad thoughts on what the hell is going on. I find myself thinking just let it go and see if by some miracle it isn’t as bad as I expect the K1 issue is …as well as the same old Card garbage being displayed. Like several in the forum… wait and see… the truth surfaces and we have no control in what is actually going on. Despite if it is a player issue or systemic issue the new staff and their employment becomes in question if the ship isn’t righted. MB will continue to write millions in checks whoever is playing, coaching or managing the team.

We could not watch any games last weekend for losing power from Helene. I'm wondering if KM did any of his sit by himself on the bench pouting Krap?

From my TV vantage point, KM sat alone, as usual. He didn't obviously pout, nor did he walk up and down the sidelines encouraging his teammates. Mostly he seemed to just sit and idly watch the defense do what they did or didn't, or look at his display screen.
Obviously what we could see was limited by how often the cameras were on the sidelines where KM sat.
IMHO

We could not watch any games last weekend for losing power from Helene. I'm wondering if KM did any of his sit by himself on the bench pouting Krap? I actually got to watch the game. From my view K1 was making lots of hurried and bad decisions Because of the pass rush from him being in the Shot gun. the few Times under center the executionof plays was better ie the 1st drive going down and scoring the 1st TD. 2nd drive K1 was in shot gun much more and the drives began to stall out. I give the W.C. team kudos because they out played both sides of the ball over the Cards. late game when K1 in Shotgun Wash D was only using 3 D-line as rushers. And they were getting to him because he could not find his recievers down field. IIRC not a single rushing play was done out of the Shot gun. K1 was running into Defender traffic way too many times. And K1 was mostly by himself on the bench, occasionally Tune would ask him a question, say something to K1. Otherwise it was glum face and looking at tablet. No Fire in his eye or belly for sure!.

Guys, after 4 games, the real issue is not the offense. The real issue is the defense. The defense couldn't stop Grandpa from farting today.
Murray must sustain drives and score. He said that himself last weekend. He's got some of the best weapons in the game to accomplish that feat. The WRs must catch the damned passes. Drops are unsat. I look for McBride to get 10 targets on Sunday. That should equate to 10 catches. He's terrific.
Baker cannot be everywhere on defense. He needs a lot of help, first on the DL, then Edge, and finally with those young corners. Gardeck is okay but limited size-wise; he's not a Bosa!

Could I just see the following things by Petzing so I know if the problem is him or Kyler: - Pre-Snap motion by the receivers
- KM1 under center at least 25-30%
- KM1 to run the ball more - Cards record is woeful when he rushes 4 or less times but is something like a 80% win rate when he rushes 9 or more times. Could I maybe just see it 6-7X ? It can be noted Jayden Daniels ran the ball 8X last week many times on 3rd down to keep the chains moving.
- MHJ and Michael Wilson catch 200 passes each day from the "jugs" gun which is all well and good but I'd rather have Kyler and these 2 big WR's work on back shoulder passes at least 8-10X/day. When 6'4" receivers with long arm are one-on-one down the sideline vs. 5'10" corners with shorter arms, a well executed back shoulder is impossible to stop. Furthermore if a CB gets burned on a back shoulder pass, it sets up a "stutter-step and go" route later in the game for a big gain as the CB "bites" on the stutter-step.
- Last but not least - Petzing to cover his mouth (like 31 other OC's in the NFL) when giving the play to Kyler. If Petzing cannot do this simple detail, I'd almost want the Cards to use the multiple signs with pictures (like some colleges do) on it to signal what play to call.
