Well - Jones was not playing well anyway as Monti whiffed on this signing. I though it was crazy for JJ to get $10M/APY when I thought something 35-40% less would still get him to sign but also that there were better options available. Almost makes me wonder if the scouts evaluating college talent are very good but some of the scouts looking at tape of NFL veterans becoming available need to be shuffled a bit. I worry about 2025 when the team will have almost $90M in cap space as evaluating NFL free agents at positions of need requires better scouting. Mack Wilson Sr and Froholdt have been Monti FA home runs. Darius Robinson's roster return cannot happen soon enough. Good thing Barton's toe looks to be okay but apparently Beachum's "hammy" is still giving him problems ... and Yes, I hate soft tissue injuries about as much as Bruce Arians.

If they push Beachum back prematurely he has a relapse, then he'll be out the season as well.

Well - the DL really, really needs DROB to be like another former Missouri DL who also weighed 290 lbs and was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2012 - Sheldon Richardson who had 78 tackles and 12 TFL's in his rookie year. Darius Robinson's physical attributes are actually a little better than Richardson and this DL could use some fresh, athletic legs to also free up Collins and Gardeck from the edge.

UGH --- last year it was the DL being decimated which assisted in things unraveling and now it is potentially the RT spot. Jackson Barton goes on IRJG says "We'll See" when asked if Jonah Williams will return THIS SEASON?So the 2 big FA signings costing the most money may result in getting ONE good quarter from J. Williams and 9 quarters of unproductive football from DL Jones ... YIKES!! It would appear the Cards are being coy on Jonah Williams as Monti will probably be offering "Hump" a contract when he is medically cleared in a few weeks. Well at least Beachum practiced yesterday.

Looks like ekler is out this game due to concussion Ekler is a significant loss for Washington and will limit their attacking options. Got to make our own running game pay and hoping this will dominate the game. Trey Benson to have a more productive afternoon anyone...?

At this point the Cards need to give Connor or whoever a fighting chance to get a run game going. 9 carries all game is not going to win you games.
