Kelvin Beachum the 13 year pro affectionately known as "Grandpa" by the team had his 150th start against the Rams. A 7th round selection by the Steelers. At 35 he has played for the Steelers, Jags, Jets, and Cardinals. About a third of his career starts have been for the Cards.
JG during his press conference on Monday shouted this out and it is important to Beach. A solid player and better person.

When Beachum retires from the NFL, comments made by HC Gannon this week will echo in Beachum's mind. It's good to be honored while still a member of the team. It means more later. |

His play early did not help, but shockingly people are a little too quick to judge. I cannot say he will be amazing all year, because he will have his struggles, but he played better than the “trash” I was told he was. So I will not overhype him off one good game, but I think he will be serviceable. Keep it up Beach.

We need a different center every other week is the one that humors me. Hajalte is one of the best the Cards have ever had. He is loved by the team and staff and loves it in the desert Beach has been a great signing and Cards have gotten good return on his play |

I’m one of the guys thinking Father Time will catch up with Beachum, as he’s never been great but always a consistent low to mid 60’s tackle. I thought he peaked years ago and the downward trend was well upon him. But somehow he keeps proving me wrong, at least for a game or two. I hope we don’t need to depend on him for long.

Media is suggesting we look into T Cam Fleming, who is a bit younger and is also a serviceable swing tackle. Might not be a bad backup idea.

They need to be able to run against him. Aiden will get a sack but hopefully it’s not a turnover. He had 4.5 or so last week and they still lost. Just need to damage control. Tip could be useful. |
