I was only vaguely aware what a perfect QB rating was. Well I was re-introduced to it last night. 158 is an odd number but Kyler achieved that. Even without knowing that watching him last night was like watching Peak Performance Kyler. The best version of him we've seen. Scrambling , throwing darts all over the field. Was quite beautiful to be honest.
The Rams are noticeably different. Something just felt wrong about them. Yea it was Aaron Donald missing. Maybe the most impactful non-QB I've ever seen play the game. I'm sure Kyler felt a little more comfortable too. LOL. (I've never seen a QB more impacted ~scared~ of a defensive player, he had Lawrence Taylor vibes)
The announcers claimed we have one of the top centers in the league. That's news to me. Froholdt is better than what we've had in the past, i love his Viking like demeanor, but I'd say he's slightly above average maybe even average.
I like the broadcast crew last night. They seem to understand energy and what it means to the viewing audience. But what's up with Sanchez and the hair, LOL. Is that surfer meets corporate suit?
James Conner has kinda restored my faith again in running backs. He just keeps going and going, kind of the antithesis of David Johnson (sign contract, grab ball, fall down).
Little concern with Trey Benson. Too much side to side. Too little production with the same line Conner has. Even in garbage time he looked like.....garbage. Not impressed. I like San Fran's philosophy towards running backs, one sharp cut and burst is what they teach them.
We can put the knives back in the kitchen cabinet for now on Buddha Baker. He came to play. He was disruptive and effective, a great tackler. But I still hold he'll be gone next season.
Marvin Harrison Jr. , pretty nice game. (understatement). At the end of the game he noted all four of Kyler's incompletions were throws his way. Fake humility? maybe but I thought it was a good observation.
Was the throw to McBride, against the grain over two defenders, the best throw you've seen Kyler make? Maybe .
I told everyone not to worry about Kelvin Beachum. Guy is a solid pro. Now for sure we cant start getting into third string tackles but we gonna be alright with this guy.
Peanut Butter Falcone with some sack action , how does this undersized guy do it. I stood beside him at target once and i can reassure you he's small for NFL. But he's a dog.
Maybe, just maybe it's true the way Buffalo beat Miami that, along with this game, validates us as a better football team than first thought post game Bills.
Paris Johnson, our new LT, PFF is 83. Haven't noticed him much in the game (always a good thing).
I hate to say it , cause i like the guy, but when we dont see much of Greg Dortch it usually means were having a better game. LOL.

He gets Ada Hutchinson next week. Trial by fire for sure and I'd have to think that Petzig will get him some help and design plays to minimize his impact. Also, how is a perfect QB rating 158. 3? Not 160 or 155 but 158. 3? What's the 0.3 about?

He has been practicing both positions and now that he can settle in to RT I knew he would get better. He is going to give up a sack or two, but he will play good enough we can win.

Well MHJ is like unlocking a cheat code. It didn’t hurt Conner picking up 1st downs on opening carries. This is the bind defenses have when the run must be given attention and MHJ can catch contested catches deep or make defenses pay on scramble drills. K1 has superior ball placement… the first TD was an incredible pass with incredible footwork by MHJ. Conner didn’t get outdone…he had runs that said “I am the dangerous one” If Cards stretch out the defense, K1 becomes a threat to score with his legs. He had one run that was one cut away from six points. Not sure how the good to great consistent play by Hajalte is overlooked… he makes great plays every game from pull and pins to blocks at the sideline to a unique pull in pass pro to block edge rushers…the fast footwork to block an edge player from the center position is uncanny. The Cards put some fear for defenses to consider on tape and there are more things the offense can do.

You can tell Aaron Donald being gone has removed the dark cloud of danger over the Cardinals offense. He was just such a difference maker and a problem.
Sanchez is much more tolerable when you are winning big.
I wanted James Conner coming out of Pitt to back up David Johnson. I have loved his story from the beginning and I have zero issue with his contract. The team loves him and that man gives his all. He adds an element of toughness we have not always had. I am down for another two year similar type contract.
I’ve given detailed Benson thoughts elsewhere, he will hopefully get it going as we will need him in the future. Lots of tape to show him on how to run in this offense.
Budda should get all the hype and accolades for YESTERDAY. He finally played like everyone acts he plays every game. Not sure if it was Budda or the staff, but someone noticed in the Rams run scheme that there was an opening to send him in like a heat seeking missile. He was amazing and had the impact to match his bravado. I still have 2 of the last 3 years as him not being the best safety on the team. One game does not change my stance on him, but all love and props for yesterday. If that continues we will be in a better place. He still got beat on a long pass as we all know, covering is not is strong suit. The Lions will now have to come up with a game plan for him so that may free something else up or waste some of their week planning for him.
MHJ unleashed and super fun. The one negative is that he did not get another catch in the final 3 quarters. Not sure what all changed (outside of running more) but if they had to game plan to try and limit him, it opened up more things for us. Keep feeding that kid the ball! Kyler and MHJ, please stay after practice and work on behind the shoulder and end zone timing.
Love everything about McBride and what a catch. I need to go back and watch, but I swear I saw a wide open MHJ down the field a bit more. With two guys on McBride, that might be true. Great throw and catch.
Gardeck’s first sack was so impressive. Had his face mask grabbed, got chipped, lost his footing a bit and still got to Stafford. That man has no quit in him and thats exactly what someone with his physical limitations needs to do. Will be interested to see what kind of pressure they can get against a much better line. Lions have one of the best OT’s in the league.
Paris looks great, both he and Beach will have a tougher test this week. I hope the Cards plan according.
Kyler looked amazing.
There is not any team that looks unbeatable at the moment and it looks like you may not have any idea what you will get from week to week. Coaching, effort, scheming and execution are going to be huge each week. Add in the turnover battle and it looks like that is what will decide these games. Teams still trying to figure out who they are.

The way the Cards looked was mesmerizing....partly because it was nearly unbelievable. Sort of like not seeing a homely young girl for a number of years and then seeing she grew up to be a HOT BABE! That's a bit much maybe as I have never thought of the Cards as homely, although they HAVE played some ugly games before. I am super impressed with JG. Last season he did not win a lot of games, but you could SEE which ones he got the team up for. That greatly impressed me, but not like thoroughly spanking a distressed Rams team and their HC McVay. It nearly makes one wonder who was actually wearing those Cards helmets? Lol. I cannot wait to see how things go next w/e!!

Through two weeks our offense is second in points scored, and we’ve played two teams that were supposed to be good, with solid offenses. The Bills are good.
Keep this offense going and build on this game for defense and we will be better than the league expected. Win-loss record is obviously the right way to judge a team, but does anyone here think Seattle is the best in the West at 2-0? I always like to look at “Net points”, which is points for minus points against, as another way to judge a team. Only two weeks in, but our Cardinals are +25, Seattle +9, San Fran +7, and Rams -37.

From NFL research:
“NFL Research: Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. is the first rookie to have 4+ receptions and 2+ receiving TD in a first quarter since his dad, Colts WR Marvin Harrison, did it in 1996. In fact, Harrison Jr. had more receiving yards (130) in the first quarter in Week 2 than his dad had in any single game as a rookie in 1996.”
Good job young man!

was only vaguely aware what a perfect QB rating was. Well I was re-introduced to it last night. 158 is an odd number but Kyler achieved that I knew that 158 was a perfect QB rating. Kyler played really well and with those legs can extend plays like no other. He earned every bit of that score. when we talk about QB ratings the game Kurt Warner had vs the Packers came to mind, I think he missed on only 4 passes. His QB rating that day was 154.15TD passes 4 incompletions score Cardinals win 51-45. Kyler was even better than that.

Not saying he does that a lot but it's so hard to follow how good a olineman is. Usually if you dont notice them it's a good thing. I do think they like him and can get better. But middle of the pack is alright.

But middle of the pack is alright. PFF isn’t everything anything north of 60 can be considered above average for sure. As per the team… the FO and coaches love him. They are not considering to replace him. He had a mediocre start as per PFF in 2023 and finished the year as one of the best centers in the NFL. Him and Paris were the iron men and improved considerably though the year. Like you said no news is good news as per OL. They extended Hajalte…so for the foreseeable future he will be the Center. He is 6’5” and close to 350 and strong as an ox. Big for a center and important to have his movement skills and strength. He loves contact and the trenches as well as the team and Phoenix area. There are areas that need improvement…they are pretty happy with the starting center.
