I know it's early and he's just a rookie but Benson just hasn't impressed me much, and Demercado appears to me the better number two option. Maybe he proves to be better, but for now......?

I posted this in the game day thread. Benson runs like he wants the play to be over as soon as possible. On a second down play he very willingly hopped out of bounds when there were more yards available. Acted like he was preserving himself for something.
He got a carry on the next play and did not seem to fight as hard as he could to get the first. I just do not see effort, burst or fire out of him.
Demarcado comes in and shows speed, burst and desire on the carries he got.
Benson is a big back, but does not seem to run like one. It is still very early for him, but I do not think he is the second best back on this team at the moment.

First MHJ in the Bills game and now Benson stinks up vs the Rams can we go retroactive on these rookies? I want a refund. Are we too late to get a re-pick for K1 as well?
Just imagine how bad Benson would be if the Rams didn't have all the injuries.

I had higher hopes for Benson at games 1 and 2, given his record at Florida State. I still think he will be fine in the NFL. Running in tandem with Connor might eventually be a blessing for Benson. He goes to school with Connor while the veteran shows the youngster how it's done. And Connor showed the young-in a lot again yesterday.

I'm old school. If a player doesn't put out the effort he does not play. To be fair we have gotten spoiled a little bit because Connor fights for every yard on every play. It's a good coaching moment for Benson is when they watch the game film this week. I also think this is one of those situations where the players can police themselves. It would be interesting to know how much conversation there is between Connor and Benson. Before the draft I stood up on the soapbox and desperately wanted the Cardinals to draft Cody Schrader out of the zoo. He's on the Rams practice squad now and I still have hopes that maybe if Benson doesn't work out the Cardinals will pluck straighter from the Rams. One thing you'll get from him is maximum effort on every play.

He will die in the Pit there unless another team grabs him.

I hope Monti & Gannon keep an "eye" on Cody. I also Hope Cado gets more ball time w/connor this next game instead of benson. Benson needs to ride the pine for a game or 2 to put some "fire" in his belly to play.

Maybe why Benson held out for as much as he could get. If He's going to play like this he may not get to a next big contract year....

Hard to determine as Eman had only 2 rushing attempt for 46 yards, with an average of 23 yard per carry. But I think of Connor was out, Eman would be the feature back. Benson just too timid and needs more time. More than likely things are going to fast for him as a rookie.

I really have this feeling he might become a star in this league. Can't seem to find such speculation in myself regarding Benson but I might (and hope) I'm wrong.

Benson just too timid and needs more time. More than likely things are going to fast for him as a rookie. Perhaps more 'tentative' than 'timid'. - At some point he needs to put any self-doubts behind him, put his best foot forward are run hard and straight. I think it's more a question of acclimatization and (possibly) confidence. - I would like to view him in a post-match interview, to gauge his demeanor.
