After viewing how our division did their first games, the indication I come away with is the 49ers showed they are destined to repeat if not go further, the Seahawks showed they aren't going away, the Rams showed depth given how well they played even given some major injuries to their OL, and our Cardinals continue to raise questions. And speaking of the 49ers, how much more underrating does Brock Purdy have to endure? When will he finally get his due as among the premier QB's of today? It's ridiculous if you ask me.

Some of those throws were only ones an elite QB makes. And he can move around too. It's a tired old trope to say he's the product of Shanahan's system. I agree , lets give the Perry High graduate some love (my daughter goes to Perry high)

Being in the Perry school boundaries myself and selling a house to one of his former coaches I have been aware of Brock for a long time. Also have Iowa ties so followed him there as well. The kid can play. He has an absolute stacked team around him, but it should not take away from what he brings to the table.
I do not care how many players the Rams are missing. They outcoach us (doesn’t matter the staff), out scheme us, play harder, play better and just have our number. We will see if the Cards coaches came up with anything for them in the offseason or if it will be more of the same. Cupp will have 125 yards and 2td’s if not. Also, some obscure guy we have never heard of will have a career day. Maybe that rooking WR, number 88 I think.
This game is huge for so many reasons, I hope they step up.

Cards get their chance to make a statement vs. the Rams at home ... McVay has the Cards # but I am hoping our DL FA signings perform a LOT better this week against their rushing attack. Can I see Kyler under center at least in the mid-teems to help the Cards own running attack. Anyway - I hope the 49ers pay Purdy 5 Yrs. $320M !!!! 2024 is their do or die year.

Well its a little easier when your RB rushes for 140 plus yards and a TD. Purdy was actually mediocre last night. What makes him good is the fact he doesnt make a lot of mistakes. But I think its more of the system, look at the RB. They put in a backup undrafted RB and he carried the 49ers. He looked like McCaffrey.

He threw a beauty to a Aiyuk in the end zone and he couldn't make the catch. (right in his hands) It was one of those "wow" throws only an elite QB can make.

Kyler had a 68% completion rate and his receivers a few big drops against Buffalo. 83.2 QBR rating. What he didn’t have is an 140 yard rusher. He was our best rusher with 57 yards, followed by Conner with 50 and Benson with 13. He also doesn’t have S.F.’s defense. I like Purdy, my kids are in Tempe but have a ton of friends at Perry. But he has a lot of talent around him that Kyler doesn’t have.

A sure touchdown there followed by a chip shot for Prater would have won the game.

I would say what separated them in game one was the throws over 10 yards. Brock hit some nice ones. Hardest throws to make in football. And of course he has a better team around him. But he still has to make those throws.

No that was nice by Kyler but the pass to Aiyuk was as good as you can get. Very impressive.
