With DRob out for at least 4 weeks the 2nd team has edged a bit closer.
Let's just Hope by seasons end we are NOT starting 3d and 4th stringers again.

So is the article suggesting that Denver's second string offense could probably put 38 points on the Card's first string defense?

Idiotic way to raise interest. IMHO First I love the avatar. I wanted to comment on that earlier. I always enjoy your insight. As per Mitchell...the public has no idea what is in the stable and on Sunday we will all find out. I have a positive feeling there are additions we have not seen that make a big improvement. In White's press conference today he said again players have to play up to JG's standard or they are gone or will not play. Jones and White are close to each other and were in same draft. Nichols and Jones are best of friends. Wilson and White are the same make up...I do think this matters. None of us have seen what they look like playing together. Jones, Nichols, White, Wilson, SMB, Budda and Thompson I would say are in a different category than the player we saw in the preseason. Low hanging fruit.

We were weak to extremely weak at all defensive positions except safety last season. This season I think we remain weak at OLB, upgraded to mediocre at interior DL, ILB and corner, and remain good at safety. An improvement in 3 of 5 defensive groups.

Sorry to have offended your sensibilities with this thread, I guess I was thinking of things along a different angle than how you're digesting it. I do know that JG loves to rotate players a lot during games in an effort to keep guys fresh on the field, and wondered to myself if this article was touching on more than meets the eye, so to speak. I had to wonder about the total lack of spending big $$ on big name FAs while putting together the team, and whether JG and Monti had a different kind of plan that says 2 guys of upper level talent costs less than a single super star, and if they felt 2 guys of upper level talent who are not playing every down is better. I guess I'm just not used to seeing decent depth on the team. You can go ahead and delete the thread if you want, I don't really care.

If our second string is almost as good as our first string, its hard to imagine failing harder than that. Obviously if our 2nd stringers were as good as first stringers they would be on a first string defense somewhere. Hopefully this guy is totally wrong.

In no way was I offended and I apologize for the snarky bad humor. I appreciate your point and there is merit to it. However I am a firm believer in there is more than one way to skin a cat. Wilson will be impactful at the edge or zone blitz. Having Jones and Nichols depth with a healthy Collier and Lopez will help stop the run and free up edge rushers and blitzing players.

The Bills have no film on the Cardinals starters since last January. That's a small Cardinals advantage. The Bills will make adjustments by halftime if necessary and then there will be no Cardinals advantage.
By the 3rd quarter, the strongest will survive and go on to win. No, I'm not Buddy Morris' wife. I'm still me.

So, I hope that our CB Corp is much better than last season...
We had Marco Wilson and Antonio Hamilton as our #1 and #2 CB's last season...
Hamilton is now with the Falcons....guess what...he is inactive for the first game...on top of that...he is listed as the #2 Nickel Back...hmm...and he was our #2 CB last season...
Marco Wilson is now with the Patriots...he is their #3/#4 CB...and he was our #1 CB last season...
Our CB room has to be better without both of those players....
