Can you imagine if we signed MHJ, Rice's kid, AND Kris Jenkins Jnr.? That would be three potential Hall of Fame bloodlines.
You know the other advantage of signing Rice? I bet his dad would show up and help tutor him AND MHJ. So MHJ would have two all time great mentors. All our WR's would. Which would also help last year's WR picks. Heck I might pay all their dad's to be special assistant coaches.

I'll say it every year. Lineage is a huge benefit for these picks because of what you stated above. The mentoring, extra guidance, family pressure. Its that extra element we need as we lack plenty of others. MHJ and Rice just has a nice ring to it, along with the fact that both as talented/big bodied guys.

Has anyone here heard the maturity concerns of the Rice kid when he was in high school here in AZ? Sometimes bloodlines are a positive. Other times fame and wealth and lifestyle can ruin a kid. It would be theoretically cool. Reality might be a locker room clash between two Hall of Fame dads and their kids with two different skill and maturity levels.

I've been a fan of drafting Jay Ross's kid all year. I think the reward outweighs the risk. And as other people have mentioned the outstanding benefit of having Marvin Harrison Senior and Jerry Rice hanging out with the team. To me it's complete no brainer that if I were bidwell assuming that met with Monty and gannon's approval I would hire Marvin senior and Jerry and Larry to at least work with the receivers during training camp. I think that would inspire every player on the roster if every day in practice they saw three Hall of famers. Some of that has to rub off right?
Or failing having any of the dads around the team or Larry it still would be great fun to be the wide receivers coach and after practice one day telling Marvin and or Brendan rice hey you better step it up tomorrow or I'm going to call your dad...

Bloodlines vs. bloody lines.
OJ Simpson's sons want to play football for the Cardinals. That's a fictitious statement.
Based on thread arguments, who among Forum members is ready to run to the Simpson kid's agent to sign the young man for the Cardinals?
If no one answers, I rest my case.

Not all bloodlines work out but look at the Matthews family. What they have four people who played very well in the nfl? Did you have a problem with the Cardinals drafting Harrison jr?

JFC, no problem here with the WR Harrison pick on Thursday. The rookie is going to do well at ARIZONA because of what he brings to the field physically and mentally, not because of his pop's fantastic career. All good parents shape their kids for success. Some kids succeed despite parents shaping. Thus, if we're going to include the Sr's stats in a rookie's evaluation, then get ready to draft QB Arch Manning to replace QB Kyler Murray in a year or two. The Mannings' clan has SB rings. The Murray's clan has zero rings. Just say'in...

It's just another part of the process to evaluate players. There have been plenty of bloodline players who failed. Phil simms's kid is a good example. I saw some early reports on Arch Manning and they were good. I've lost track of him and have no idea how old he is or what he's doing now but if he's playing college ball at a high level and he's there in the fourth round yeah I probably would take him. And then try to hire his daddy and his uncle to help out our quarterback room a little bit.
