Cardinals gave up #3 which was 2200 points
#105 84
Houston gave up #12 1200 points
#33 580
2024 #27 680
#90 140
This turned out to be only 316 points in return
If Houston had finished in the bottom like say 3 as we wanted
Different story
Cardinals 2284
Houston #12th 1200
580
2024 2200
3rd 255
Would give us a whopping +1951 in trade points < that is a dice roll for snake eyes
In the end, The Cardinals got less in trade value points +316
than the 49ers (376) did in the Trey Lance trade.
It is best to trade for trade value in the current year
which makes it harder to deal but you have to assume the worst
if you wait till next season's draft.
Houston drafting at #27 says it all
If you are trading and getting a 2025 1st rd pick then
assume you are getting a 590 point value player
Always assume the worst The Texans almost taught us that
The Lions Trade IN HINDSIGHT!
The Cardinals then moved up from 12th to 6th
We gave UP OUR 12TH AND 34th picks
LIONS #12 Jahmyr Gibbs RB 945 yds 5.0 yds per carry 10 TDs 52 recp 316 yds 1 TD
#34 Sam Laporta TE 86 receptions 899 yards 10 TDs BEST TIGHT END ROOKIE EVER
1200 points CARDINALS
plus #81 in this draft 2024 = 185 points
#6 th = 1600 points LIONS plus #34 = 560
plus the Lions got our #168th 24.2 points
1600 points for the Lions to start
minus 1200 Cardinals
minus 560
minus 24.2
1600 plus 185 points
1785 - 1200- 569- 24.2
= 0.8 points
Paris Johnson PFF grade 60.1
Sam Laporta PFF 76.4
Jahmyr Gibbs PFF 74.5
Lets hope Monti does better in 2024
Lesson 1 You need a top Edge rusher TAKE HIM
Lesson 2 When the team you trade with has the 3&4 selections
and you go down to 12. Count on that team to be better not worse
Case in point the Texans.
