I'm not saying we should not consider him. In fact, and from the article... "key among Morse’s contributions was as a mauler in the run game"and "As a captain, Morse brought a level-headed and introspective point of view to a team that prides itself on veteran leadership."I like both of those things. To have success in the future, we need a solid run game and people with leadership qualities. I think Monti is looking for that too. But and this is a big but. He is 31. Not ancient but getting there. We have been burned with older signings before. I suppose it will come down to cost, but I'm not so sure Monti will be considering any free agent at that age. We will see. I came across this article today and fits in perfectly here. It's about someone I had forgotten about and maybe others here as well. A quote from the article below... "Center Jon Gaines II, who was selected in the fourth round, was impressive throughout training camp, but suffered a knee injury early in the final preseason game"In making draft projections, don’t sleep on Cardinals OL Jon Gaines II
It's too soon to tell how good or bad he might be, but he is still on a rookie contract and just might be what we are looking for. The more guys on rookie contracts that can play at a decent level, the more money we have for high-end players. I'm convinced that's formula to win year after year.
