I didn't know where else to post this phenomenal shot of the X-37 launch on Friday.
Wow.

That is a really cool video. The cameraman either got incredibly lucky or he planned it and set up at just the right angle/spot from the launch site. Even then, it would take some luck. The moon is big, but not so big that you could easily predict the exact flight path as to cross directly in front of it. He would have to know the exact launch time. A deviation of just a couple of minutes and the moon would be out of position. I just thought I would add a couple more things. As I'm sure you know, the X-37 true purpose is highly speculative and basically a secret. A picture of the X-37. A short video about the X-37.... Also, the Falcon Heavy ( cool name...lol ) launched this a few years back... While one might say the Tesla payload along with the Starman was trivial. In my opinion it was not. Sure, there was some boasting and publicity for the Tesla brand name. The main goal for this launch was testing with a payload. They weren't going to use an expensive satellite that might be lost if things went wrong. They could have used say a bunch of barrels filled with water. That would be boring. So why not send up a cool car to inspire the imagination.... It reminds me of the beginning of this movie that I saw many years ago...

The DoD's X-37 is exactly the right size to be a toolbox containing tiny instruments and unique packages. I think of the X-37 as a "Space Doctor's Black Bag" for space triage, etc. ... Just don't work on my junk.
