I'm trying to recall what the JETS traded for Aaron Rogers because they definitely went All-In. Since they went all in they only have two choices. Buy a prime QB or start selling off pieces to rebuild. Since most teams can't afford to trade a QB this early in the season, if I'm Monti, I'm on the phone right now calling the Jets seeing what they'd give me for Kyler. We'd probably get back a lot more now than later and this gives coach the chance to add to our draft pick war chest while at the same time choose 'his dude' during next year's draft. From what I can tell the Jets have about 25 million in cap space.
The best part is this. The JETs won't want to rebuild. Not with their young talent. But with Aaron out, any draft picks they send us will be better than previously slotted. It's probably the best move for Kyler when you think about it. He could go to a loaded team with solid WRs. Just not sure he could handle the New York media.
If it's me, I'm asking the Jets for a future 1st rounder and some change for Kyler. His injury won't get us this year's first from them, but a discounted future first, plus maybe 2 3rd rounders, might suffice. I then turn around and flip that future package for someone's first in the next draft. With 3 first rounders in the draft we can still get our QBOTF plus WROTF and a pass rusher.
I don't care what Caleb, Drake or anyone else says. If they know they are landing in a spot with the best young WRs joining them, and cap space to upgrade the OL, they'll come here.

What a gut punch for the Jets and for Rodgers.
All our speculation about our own seasons and plans and draft picks and free agents is a lot of fun. But stuff like this is the reality of football.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I've posted it several times and I don't think anyone believes me. In 2018 Rogers wanted McCarthy fired his head coach of the packers. He deliberately lost a game against the cardinals. Yes I'm saying that he tanked the game. It was very clear especially the last couple minutes of the game were several times with no timeouts in the clock running with the Packers down by a few points he held the Packers at the line just letting the clock run. Throughout his career Rogers have been very dynamic in those type of situations and it was very obvious. If you don't believe me watch the tape.

This was my thought exactly. The Jets are QB away from being a really good team. Kyler could help that team immediately. Get a 1st and a 3rd. You also create room for Caleb Williams. He is less likely to come here if Kyler is here.

I agree that Rogers can be a jerk. But he was right about McCarthy. McCarthy should have been fired from the Cowboys 2 seasons ago. The Cowboys are loaded with talent and there is no reason they shouldn't have gotten to a Superbowl or an NFC championship game at the very least. You talk about a team that has underachieved.. his offense is vanilla and predictable. Everyone is picking Dallas to go to the Superbowl from the NFC and I wouldn't be surprised if they underachieve again. The Packers current coach is so much better than McCarthy; you can thank Rogers for that move.

He didn't play well that entire game and I thought well maybe he just having a bad day but it was glaringly apparent that in the late fourth quarter he was deliberately letting the clock run in order to lose the game.
