My initial take away from this game work. First of all 9 penalties 122 yards. Lord help us.
Why did Connor only get 14 carries? Especially since Dobbs evidently should not be on an NFL roster. I wasn't expecting much from him but it was even worse than I thought. I did predict the Cardinal offense but not score a touchdown and I was correct on that. I'm surprised they got a first down.
Coaching moment for Paris Johnson getting a dumb 15 yard on sportsman like penalty for dragon a player off the pile late in the game.
I'm not at all convinced that our secondary is any good, rather I think the commander's quarterback stinks as well.
Michael Wilson two catches? Are you for real two catches? Two catches? Where's the guy that was tearing it up in camp?
I'll have to go back and watch the game again to see how the offensive line played. But it didn't look very good from watching it at game speed.
One down 16 more losses to go right? LOL
Almost forgot. I definitely thought that Gannon should have called a timeout when there was slightly less than 3 minutes left in the game and saved 45 seconds at the Redskins just ran off the clock.

Even average qb play we win. Average Qb play by Washington and limit the turnovers the team gets embarrassed.

Again with you. Be specific about what is loony and why. Your opinion will never be the final say in any discussion. No team in modern NFL has started a 5th round rookie the first week of the season. Purdy was the 3rd option last season before his start. Monti crapped the bed not having a legitimate QB going into camp. Minshew, Brisset, or even Bridgewater would have won that game today. Coach G did a great job of getting this team prepared today. I’m encouraged. Can’t wait till K1 is back. Just maybe he is looking at next years crop of rookies just sayin They have a lot of money out on KM and you are rebuilding, average Qb's are costly.

Hell, I thought the Cards weren't even suppose to show up today according to some on here. Honestly the D did good but we benefitted from the bad Qb play on the other side as well as turnovers without those two things this would have been ugly. There on two turnovers they were gonna score and one we scored on lol. Do you think that is gonna happen every week ? moral victories suck.

When I think with my head and not my heart - today is a positive. Cards almost pulled the upset on the road in front of a frenzied crowd vs. a very good defense and a QB who had 6 practices with the team. Would have been real interesting IF Ertz had pulled in the catch for a TD in 1st half instead of the ball going off his hands which cost the team 4 points.
I do want to say something about the play RIGHT BEFORE the critical Dobbs fumble. Cards gain about 17 yds on a TE McSwain catch which is called back due to Hernandez allegedly being illegally downfield. This play was with a little bit more than 4 minutes in 4th qtr, before the Dobbs fumble and the Commanders with only a one point lead. Additionally, this play would have marked the ball at around the Commander 36 yd line for a first down. I replayed that one and Hernandez goes along the LOS to his left (remember Dobbs has rolled to his right) and makes a half-hearted attempt to assist another OL blocking RIGHT AT THE 45 yd line which was the original LOS. The DL he attempts to block goes out to get Connor in the flat so Hernandez barely touches him and starts to almost fall forward (AT The 45 yd LOS line!!) but he stabilizes himself and does a 355 lb. Pirouette spin putting him at about the 47 yd line but FACING the Cardinals side of the fiel. He is facing the opposite way from doing any more blocking attempts downfield... had Hernandez just fallen face down, the Cards would have been better off. This was a TERRIBLE call and made all the difference in the outcome of the game as the Cards would have had another set of downs and been able to at a minimum run the clock down to the 2 minute warning and kicked the go ahead FG. For those that DVR'D the game, the plays was around the 4:22 mark of the 4th qtr.
For the most part played itself out as an encouragement to Cardinal fans: 1) Showed Competent Coaching & Player Development of the young players. 2) Coaches played and rotated in a lot of younger players getting contributions from even a couple players I didn't know would play like Luketa, Wallace & Dimukeje. 3) Dobbs fumble (though I think he had it but was on his back and 2 Commanders jumped on top of his chest to secure the football) and sporadic play was enough for Clayton Tune to get more snaps at practice this week. JG might in fact announce the reps will be split and again no name of starter until next Sunday. 4) Two (2) very high 1st round draft picks odds have only increased after today. With that thought, Go Rams beat Seahawks.

Sloppy but good game to close for comfort... Wasn't the type game anyone thought would happen. Result was expected though. Congrats. See you in 4 years at next meet.

Luckily, I got to watch most of the game. Overall and considering everything, I was happy with it. It was the first game for this new regime, and it was on the road. Yeah, the offense did not show much. But did anyone really think they were going to light up the scoreboard? I'm not sure where most of the blame should go....an unexperienced QB with only two weeks to prepare, WR's not getting open and/or making tough catches, and perhaps other things as well. Still with all the changes in personal, coaches and a new offense, I kind of expected it. The offense will definitely be a work in progress this year and next year as well. As many have said here before, our best ally is patience...it will take time. For whatever reason our defense showed much better and surprised me and I'm sure many others. If the offense could have stayed on the field a little more, they would have looked even better. We have work to do, but that was to be expected and no reason to be down on our team....in fact, what I saw today makes me even more optimistic we are on the right track.

It’s going to be a ruff season I think we all knew that coming in. This team needs about 8-10 starters to be contenders. When Monti gave a 5th Dobbs I knew he was tanking. Really Dobbs should be in the Canadian league & I’m being generous. Although I love Minshew I think he wins us about 8 games to take us right out contention of top 10 pick. I don’t think the front office wants that.
