You are a week early with the toasting. 9/10 is kickoff. Tough to tell who JG favors, re QBs Dobbs or Tune, for the start v. Commanders. The former QB has a few real games under his belt. That might be JG's deciding factor by next Sunday. In all my life as a Cardinals fan, I cannot recall a year where the Cardinals started the season with 2-3 QBs that have no game wins. None. That's really strange. - EZ (formerly P)

From what I have seen in Dobbs two starts, I just do not see him winning a game for us while Murray is gone. Also, at this time I have no confidence in Petzing. Last season was his first year as the QB coach for the Browns. Not sure what his playbook will be, but if it is what Cleveland used last season...that amounted to a 7-10 season. Petzing was the QB coach and Brissett the back up QB had a 4-7-0 QB record. That does not give me a lot of confidence in Petzing at this time.
Well, my final say before the game is I hope either Dobbs or Tune can win us 2 games until Murray returns. If that can happen, I will then hope Murray can win 5 games for us when he returns. That would be 7 wins and that is progress for the team. With our draft picks next year, if we win 7 games this season...perhaps we can win 9 to 10 games in 2024. And just get better the following season.

I just have no idea which QB will give the offense the best chance to move the ball, eat clock, and maybe score 3 or 6 points. Those two QBs have the thinest resumes possible. Purdy is my only example that gives me .01% more confidence about Tune over Dobbs. If Purdy can pull a rabbit out of a hat, why not Tune? Oh, I like the new avatar. New season, new avatar. Nice work!

WHAT IF The Cards shock the Commanders and then upset the NYG to start 2-0? How many of you will be jumping off the ledge like the 1929 Wall Street Crash?! Many of you are peering over that ledge right now. Vertigo is starting to grip your mind. Lean back take a DEEP Breath and live another day.

Besides the game itself, I can't wait till next week at this time....what everyone will be talking about.
I bet it's going to be all over the place. Win or lose, I suspect some ( hopefully most ) will be happy with a win, while others may be disappointed hoping for a loss to keep a high draft position in play.
What will be said about the starting QB. Did he do well, or we will argue the other guy should have started.
I could go on and on about what everyone will be looking for and if it met or exceeded expectations or was a failure. No doubt, everyone one will have an opinion. Thats what this message board is for.
I'm going to try not to be too up or down whatever happens. We are a team in flux with countless unknowns. This will just be the first battle with many more to come and the long-term outlook won't be known for some time.
I can't believe it's only a week away. This week will take forever....lol
Go Cards!!!

Thanks. Had to read down to the bottom of the entire article to learn that Lombardi is questioning Rivera as a businessman. But why should fans care about that? Lombardi believes the Commanders' Head Coach is doing fine as a coach and will benefit personally with a new owner and new QB. Maybe this article should be run in the WSJ or Psychology Today.

9/04/2023 Coach Gannon's Live Press Conference 1 pm Just listened in to the presser. JG is super confident, realistic, and knowledgeable. I want that attitude to rub off in the locker room. I think it will happen. I did hear JG say the players must study and practice what they study. He did not point at any one player, but left it up to the players to police themselves and come together as a team. Regarding next Sunday, he said there will be good plays and bad plays. Compartmentalize. Focus on little things. Do everything right. The wins will come. I think the team flies out of PHX on Saturday.

I used to post GDT no later than 24 hours in advance of the normal kickoff. 36 hours is too much. The Game Thread is good info all the time.
