www.quantamagazine.org/jwst-spots-giant-black-holes-all-over-the-early-universe-20230814/Using the new JWST telescope, astronomers are finding things at the edge of the Universe that they did not expect to find. There are finding too many Black Holes, and they Black Holes are too big for the assessed age of the Universe. This article from Quantum Magazine is long but not too technical. I hope a few of you read through the paper. The JWST telescope is just starting to provide data. The JWST has at least another 10 years of time before a refresh is required. During that 10-year search window, I suspect the astronomers are going to find other things in the Universe that turn science on its head. ET might get in touch with us.

This is quote about the James Webb Telescope taken from this.... article"JWST is 100 times more powerful than Hubble, and its infrared lens allows it to peer much further into the deep universe and the distant past. Comparing the new JWST image to prior imagery from Hubble, astronomers discovered new features of one of the oldest galaxies ever seen."We learned so many things from the Hubble, but each new thing only gave us new questions. Now the same thing is happening with JWST. It's answering some questions but now we have even more to ask. It's a never-ending thing, the more we know, the more we realize how little we do know. Super massive black holes are just one example. We have suspected them for some time but had no real understanding how they could form or how many there are. From what I understand, there is/was not enough time for a "normal" blackhole to combine with others to become super massive. We're talking millions if not billions of blackholes combining. A direct collapse ( as described in your article ) seems much more probable to me. The early universe was much more dense making it more of a possibility. This exactly what the JWST was made for. Will it answer all our questions.....clearly not, but it will be another step in trying to understand our existence.
