Never have I watched a Card game with around 10 rookies with positive contributions. It wasn’t cardiac Cards it was solid vanilla without embarrassing moments. Well jeez I hope they don't ruin the tanking plans lol. Is there any excitement around here for Caleb Williams? I can already hear Vikings fans next year, "lets go trade for Murray!!!". It was Lamar Jackson and Trey Lance this year. No thanks. I can't wait to move on from Cousins, but I want nothing to do with Murray or his bloated contract. The real question is whether Tune is the next Cousins..

Evening all. Let’s go Cardinals 2023! A toast to Rimrock tonight. He's trout fishing somewhere. He will toast us later.

Just saw the highlights. Wow, shades of Josh McCown rolling right and finding Nate Poole flashbacks there lol, minus a defender pushing Cobbs out of bounds. Exact same score too 18-17. I had to go frame by frame just to see if that first foot was even down, and it was by only 1 or 2 frames. The Cardinals with the ol "let em score so we have a chance" play, and Payton/Broncos fell for it lol. I guess the Cards still had 2 TO's so they couldn't quite take a knee a couple times and kick a last second FG, but it sure did look like they let them score. I would've at least made you guys burn your TO's. I could not watch the game due to NFL Network last minute schedule shenanigans, so I must wait for the replay highlights. But I read enough this morning to know our new Head Coach Gannon is as good as any experienced NFL HC. He owned the "let 'em score" strategy. I love that HC attitude. It's Advanced Psychology 601. Gannon got into the Broncos' defender's heads (including VJ's) and forced them halfass ponies to stop the Cardinals offense. The DEN backups were not up to it. Cardinals got the best of the Broncos last night.

No coverage of any NFL Preseason game in Western IL. Quincy/Hannibal TV stations are lacking in that regard. So like PutMeIn I've watched highlights today on YT. We will win 7 games this regular season. Maybe even 7+.

Wow, I was very impressed with our team. It took Wilson and company quite awhile to score on us. Was I disappointed that it took us long to get points up? Hell no! I can't remember exactly, but wasn't Denver's Defense a top 10 defense last season? We played against their first string a long time. Had Connor, Murray and Hollywood been able to play one series, we would have come away with points.
I was really impressed with Dante Stills. I really hope he makes the roster. Clark also had a decent game. Wilson played as I expected. Once Murray returns, Wilson could easily become our #2 WR.
But the thing that impressed me the most was the coaching. That was a gutsy call to end the game. Just like the Chargers did to us last season. For our defense to be able to hold their first string to zero points for so long I'm sure our coaching played a significant role.
Hamilton played a good game. But I absolutely positively expected that from him because he is an experienced player. I was expecting a lot more from Rondale. I truly hope he can make some great plays in the next two games.
I give Kudos to our defense for keeping those 3 missed field goals beyond the 40 yard line (I might be wrong on the distance). We would have lost had they made one of those.
I am anxious to see Ojulari and Garrett play. Tune is going to need a lot more reps if we expect any wins should he have to start during Murray's absence. I still think that Blough did fine, even though he started off bad.
Overall, our team played well. The best part was we beat Payton. Think about this... had Payton become our coach, would he have won the game with so many of our players not suited up? Can't wait for the next game.
Go Cardinals!!!!

The real question is whether Tune is the next Cousins.. As someone who thinks Cousins is an anti-winner, you'll have to elaborate on that for me lol. Do you consider it a good thing if Tune ends up being the next Cousins? It's probably fine if you're the kind of fan who's content with merely being entertained in the regular season, but if you ever hope to see the Cardinals win a championship, or even a playoff game, you might want to hope Tune doesn't end up being the Cousins xD. You get checkdowns on 4th and 8 with your season on the line with guys like Cousins. A guy who would rather go shirt shopping with his wife on Tuesday's than be in the building with his teammates looking for every possible advantage he can find to win more than one career playoff game every 11 years.

OL and DL both played well. Big Paris had NO issue with anything the Broncos did. He had some great push on run plays. Plus Hump didn’t even play! The DL showed great fight, we played some of Bear defense (remember old Buddy Ryan Chicago defense). After game JG said D lines played physical and with violence. Coach is a genius on defense and will cobble up great game plans with the talent he has IMO.
I will repeat what I said a couple of months ago. We will be a feisty little team fight to the gun. Love the fight, that must have been an angry flight back home to Denver. How did we lose to team that is supposed to go 0-17?

Good post Flash Any thought on OL or DL play? MT, as far as the Dline, like I have already mentioned...Dante Stills impressed me. Especially when he was chasing down it was either the QB or RB. He was so close to making the tackle. He would not give up the chase. That's exactly what I want to see from our players. They need to not give up until each play is completely over. As far as the rest of the Dline is concerned... I have to include some of the Linebackers because between the two, they comprise our Pass Rush. I couldn't believe how many times they pressured Wilson. Don't forget how many times we have played against Wilson in the past and have not been able to get to him. Zaven was creating pressure and getting in on the run plays. I'm so curious to see how Ojulari will impact our Pass Rush. Also on the defensive side, I saw Jalen Thompson make a play in the first series. What I didn't notice was what position he was playing. Was he at Free Safety or Slot Cornerback? Did Simmons play? I don't recall seeing him. Jalen is one of my favorite players on the team. He is consistent and always on the field. Overall, our defense pressured the QB and for the most part kept the RB's in check. The Online did an ok job at the beginning. Someone on here mentioned that Paris had played in the game. I must have missed that because I was focusing on the other players too much. I thought I heard one of the announcers say he hadn't suited up. The way I see it is, our OC is going to have to do what he has to in order for the Online to give our QB just a few seconds more. Also, I thought the Online did a decent job for our RN's. I thought Ty'son and Demercardo outplayed Clement. I'm thinking Ingram will not make the roster. When we have Humphries and Paris in for a whole game, I believe our Oline should not be one of the Corps to worry about. I'm going to have to Google the Bronco's press conference to see how Payton tries to explain the loss, especially after playing his first string for so long. I'm so happy he is not our HC!

I was focused on watching Paris the entire time he was in there. He played like 10 year vet. What’s the best thing about great OL play? They are doing their job, no pressures or sacks, no penalties etc. Very pleased, the Cardinals were going to take him at no 3 even if they hadn’t traded down. Getting him at 6 and pulling of the heist of getting Texans no 1 next year was a god sent.

Clark was excellent in first game. That leap through the air to tip the pass away was WOW. He has great closing speed and will tackle. Think the CB room will be good to very good. We haven’t even seen maybe the best to come with Garrett Williams, if not for his injury he would have been a likely no 1 or certainly high no 2 pick. Super ball hawk.

For the rookies that have played and camp play we have gotten production from all of them. This best draft I remember in long time and I have been around a long time. Monti is so far so much superior to Keim it’s not even funny.

Just a quick heads up for everyone. You have people using 2 different themes now (light/dark), so be careful with any special text formats you want to use. It might look fine on your theme, but might be unreadable on the other theme. For example, this message by supercard shows up just fine on the light theme, but on the dark theme it looks like this lol. The blue bit is where I highlighted it with my mouse so I could read it. So that's the work around if you see what appears to be a big block of nothing. Highlight it with your mouse. Unfortunately I don't know of any coding we could add to prevent something like that. We have 4 different theme shades on our board and sometimes people like to use different colored text for different sections to make their message look more organized and pretty, but on some themes that might make parts unreadable.
