Yes, sad. A rabid bat biting a hand of a sleeping victim? Wow? Was the victim not aware of bats in the bedroom, tent, or cave? FLCF, what are we supposed to learn? Call an exterminator maybe. Quote: "This unfortunate individual had an unrecognized immune deficiency that probably contributed to the failure." We've all heard the same quote used when a proven Rx fails to save a COVID-19 patient. Diseases take advantage of un-fit victims. We all become un-fit or un-well at the end of our lives. That's the natural process.
