Thrilling videography, but it's completely fake. This video took a lot of laboratory work. Can you spot the many mistakes? US aircraft carrier with F/A-18 Hornets. Near-calm ocean water. Flanker high-power approach but no exhaust. Shadows missing over flight deck. No people on the flight deck. Improper lineup for carrier approach. Etc. Etc. What we see online is not always real. Watch out for the AI fakes. They are here now and getting better fast.
I have air time in Navy fighters from many decades ago. I spent many years on aircraft carriers. The Russian-built Sukhoi Flanker famed 'cobra' tactic is an authentic air combat maneuver (ACM) perfected by test pilots and used by low- to medium-altitude fighter aircrews today.

Even if fake, that's a cool video.
If I had randomly came across that video and with no warning its fake. It's well enough done it might have fooled me for a minute or two.
What would be the tip off as being a fake is not the spectacular maneuver or flaws in the video. It would be....hey wait a minute. A Russian jet landing on a US carrier and especially during these times. If that was real, it would have been headline news.
If I'm not mistaken, that's called a cobra maneuver. With certain high-performance jets and skilled pilots, it can be done. ( the maneuver, not the landing ) I sure it was not developed for or meant for carrier landings. I suppose in an unlikely scenario where there were no arresting cables or a tail hook malfunction, it might be worth a try but it's not likely to end well.
I believe it's mainly for dogfights when one jet is trying to get behind another jet that is chasing it. I can't imagine the G's you would pull doing that.
