Anthony Richardson QB will be a freak at the Combine ... if he throws with above average accuracy, his stock will skyrocket. Perfect eye-candy option for the Raiders - could the Cards trade down twice (once to Colts and then to Raiders) ? Cardinals front office and their fans need for Levis and Richardson to impress a combine because most pundits feel the next tier of QB's after the top 4 drop into back half of 2nd round territory. 9 Athletic Freaks at the Combine includes a couple of Michigan players who should be on Monti's "need to do a deep dive on them" list. . BTW - The Athletic has an article today also listing AR15 as a star of the coming 2023 NFL combine. Could you imagine getting Jalen Carter and Mazi Smith in the same draft? Would be so sweet.

We all agree he's got accuracy issues--some of that might be coachable. AR15 has a lot of basic work to do at the Combine and a great opportunity for him to raise his stock and cash in with a team in April. If his Combine numbers are atop of the measurables, he will be gone by the time the #11-32 GMs go shopping. I hope every QB thrills the Combine. That will raise the price pressure on the Cardinals #3 pick. Win-win! We want just enough that teams are desperate to move up. We don't want so many that they feel it is a deep class and can wait things out.

Could you imagine Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead and Jalon Kinlaw and all your QBs injured on the bench? The greatest defense can’t win without a healthy QB. Destroying DL dreams. Cool. Cool. Not at all. It is similar to why so many like high priced top quality cuts of steak, but will gladly eat BBQ or brisket(a cheap tough to eat cut if not prepared well). You can build a tasty meal if low quality cuts of meat are seasoned and cooked properly. End result it what matters. No doubt it takes talent to win in the NFL and if Cards roster was more solid I would be on board. I have stated my OL priority. The DL is also of great need. To trend in right direction on DL there is quantity and quality in need. Losing CJ and JJ Watt are not easily replaced. There are specialists that are cheaper than great diverse superstar options. here is also the idea of maximizing what the Cards have and building to complement them. Stopping the run and getting off field on third are the two areas to focus on. I give you Morris Mich, Wooden Aub, Benton WI, Mustipher Penn St, Slade Mich ST, Fehoko SJSU, Tavai SDSU, Coburn TX, Karl Brooks Grambling and my third down big and tall IDL freak Dexter Florida. A trade down for extra picks and there is a good chance all of these will be available from 3rd round on pick three or so to add to what AZ already has. Dexter has a very high ceiling with his body type, build and speed. He is the size of Carter 6’6” 312LBs. He has the unique ability to hold the point of attack as he puts pressure on QB and I think he has the tools to be similar to Calais Campbell he is a couple inches shorter, but has unusual strength for his long frame. He isn’t close to peaking, so may have a great NFL career. I think he may get drafted sooner than many think at this point. Remember AZ is in need to continue the Gator movement. Previous Gator D coach may give Monti the inside scoop on Dexter.

The main player I want to see numbers on in combine this year is Caleb Murphy 6’3” 253LBs OLB/edge pass rush specialist
With 25.5 sacks in 2022 (NCAA record) and played well in East/West Shrine game
Currently a 6-7th round prospect and will rise with good combine numbers. He is a small school kid with great numbers and consistency you want to see. He understood it would take exceptional numbers to get noticed and he accomplished that with a game high 5 sacks. Smart likable kid.

I keep picking QB Aidan O'Connell in every simulated draft. The Purdie QB is intriguing later on

Thanks, Wish vs the level of competition was better Very Athletic, protects the ball as a runner better than Kyler. It is funny you brought that up. Flacco, Wentz, and recently Tre Lance all played at same level and were 1st round picks. Not saying they were good or great in NFL but they were more prototypical size. Scott is not much different in statue that Bryce Young, Lindsey Scott is 25 and took some time to develop or be given a chance. He put up such big numbers and had to be like K1 moving around behind a sub par OL and even playing FBS Nevada he had over 70% completion rate and over 400 yards passing against a higher level team with lower level players. If his 40 time is under 4.5 that would just add to his value. Unfortunately he will not be given a chance to compete in combine to get a better comparison. He is small at 5’11” and 212LBs, many teams like Steelers are engaging in talks with him. If a team is looking at a low risk QB option on the cheap and want a baller he would be my number one option. With AZ how could you find a closer mini me to K1 than Lindsey Scott.

2/28: The teams not participating in the Combine this week: Chargers, Rams, Saints and of course the Patriots.
I understand the Rams sitting out the NFL Combine in 2023 -- HC McVay is exhausted, some assistants and scouts are looking for new jobs, some high-priced FAs may be traded or cut next week, and the GM as usual generally trades away most picks just prior to the Draft.

If one of the stud defensive players are there at 3 we better take them.
This whole being cute with draft picks has to stop.
