Who was the last Cardinals Head Coach carried off the field by the players? My guess is Don Coryell. Imagine players carrying away Wilks or Kingsbury? No.
I can't imagine players carrying off the likes of any other HC since that miracle year, '74. The players loved and idolized the man. He clearly loved them back just as much.

April of 74 Mrs and I were landing in Frankfurt W. Germany starting our overseas tour with the US Army. Both of us Spec 4s 98Gs. Only news I had About the Cardinals was AFN Radio and when someone had a US newspaper. Was back home and ETs'd by the time the 75 season started. Lived 50 miles out of St. Louis back then. Worked at the Fenton Dodge Truck Plant. All gone now.
And yes Don Coryell should have been given the keys to the Draft. But Bill Bidwill and George Boone ran that (into the ground). And Don left for SD. <sigh> What could've been in St.Louis...
