In 2016, the Phoenix Suns had Pascal Siakam within their grasp. He attended a pre-draft workout and the Suns had two top picks. Their relationship ended there. But…what if? Do you remember when the Phoenix Suns hired Ryan McDonough? One of the specific qualities that supposedly made his such a fantastic hire was his ability to scout players for the draft, most uniquely, foreign talent that is more difficult to discern considering their lack of playing in the NCAA and relative talent. Of course with all drafts, hindsight is 20/20. The incoming players are extraordinarily difficult to accurately map out as the number of variables that can make a player move one direction or another can be totally imperceptible to a scout, or entirely out of the realm of ability to detect on any level. Yet, this was what Ryan McDonough was supposedly great at. This was where he was supposed to excel and through the draft was going to be how the Phoenix Suns were going to be great again. www.google.com/amp/s/valleyofthesuns.com/2019/06/01/what-if-the-phoenix-suns-had-drafted-pascal-siakam-and-giannis/amp/Sun's drafted Dragan Bender over Siakam.

People rip The Cards for drafting but the Suns have been horrific. Granted bball is a bit harder, but man they have missed on so many.
There were others that passed on those players you mentioned too.
