We got our tall (and muscular!) receivers. Dortch is the odd man out. After Dortch:
WR1 rookie Marvin Harrison 6’-4”, 210 lbs WR Michael Williams 6’-2”, 213 lbs FA aquisition WR Chris Moore 6’-1”, 200 lbs WR rookie Tejhaun Palmer, 6’-2”, 210 lbs TE1 Trey McBride, 6’-4”, 246 lbs TE/WR Elijah Higgins, 6’-3”, 235 lbs TE rookie Tip Reiman, 6’-5”, 270 lb monster
All 6’-1” or taller and not a skinny guy in the bunch.

I kind of feel bad for Dortch. He had a hard time getting on the field last year, but once he did, he played with heart and showed he belongs. Now he has even more competition at getting playing time and they are all bigger than him. Thats a tough spot to be in. Knowing him and his tenacity, he will just consider it a challenge. He will be ready to go if called on. While I hope the new guys do well, I will still be rooting for him.

Love the little guy.

I think Dortch would be a big part of the offense. What made it work when Warner was here? A true number one WR in Fitz, a big bulky bruising WR in Bolden who can go over the middle and what really made it work was a shorter, faster, over the top WR in john Brown to open the top up. Cardinals need that fast, speedy beat you downfield guy and I believe that is Dortch.

There is 100% a role for a WR like him and now he has that role all to himself. It’s the tall guys who will be fighting over roster spots.

PLAN TO DO ALL OF OUR PICKS Tejuan Plamer WR UAB In doing my research, I found that what impressed me the most about our #191th pick in the 6th round was his work ethic. In the article below titled Pretty T ough. You will read about how Palmer ended up playing 20 games with in his previous season within the year. He helped Snow College get to the NCJAA title game. A week later he transferred to UAB and played a season with with the Blazers in Birmingham.
NCJAA title game 4 receptions with 131 yds 1 TD with Snow College

I think UDFA Weaver from Colorado beats him out but the WR room is very young, so I expect Monti with some cap space could sign a WR from the list below who are free agent WR's whom cannot expect huge pay days. Here are some vet WR's who been waiting to get paid but are still unemployed (taller WR's are bolded) Tyler Boyd
Odell Beckham Jr. Michael Thomas - oft injured Hunter Renfrow Jauan Jennings (49ers assigned RFA tender) Mecole Hardman Marquez Valdes-Scantling Michael Gallup - he is 6'1" which is my minimum acceptable Corey Davis
Julio Jones - too old D.J. Chark
Russell Gage - Allen Robinson

I watch some film on Palmer today and one thing that really stuck out to me was he seems to have an extra gear when he's in open space. It remains to be seen it he will make the roster but it's been a while since the Cardinals had a wide receiver that had that extra gear. I'm not talking about necessarily 40-yard dash time either but football speed. We all saw Larry on numerous occasions outrun defensive players that would have beat him easily in a 40-yard dash.
Palmer also has the ability to make really tough contested catches. That was one of my main drives with the Cardinals receiving core is except for Hopkin it didn't seem like we had any receiver that receiver who was willing to fight for the ball
