Thought it would be interesting to start a thread on what we will all do for the upcoming season concerning resolutions. I'll start it, and it might make some like CardSins chuckle. My new 'football' years resolution is to try to be more lenient on Kyler. I will not promise to make it an entire season, but I will definitely try to make it from training camp until at least week 4 before I call for any changes to be made, regardless of the outcomes. Board members can keep me honest on this resolution, only through week 4, but I will try my hardest. That being said, I do reserve the right to speak harshly 'during gametime', not before after, during the first few weeks, because as we can all attest, emotions get the best of us during game time.
I feel my season expectations are reasonable given he's not being paid to manage games. I want to see average of at least 300 ypg, and a 2.5 to 1 TD/INT ratio. (not counting running TDs) That's end up season goal mind you, not the first few games where I expect he will still be learning new system. I'm willing to go so far as to make a promise. If Kyler can get us to the playoffs, and actually win 2 playoff games, I will not only BUY a Kyler jersey, but I will post a photo of me wearing it - holding up a sign where I say, "I was wrong." Because while we can all disagree, any real Cardinal fan bleeds red and admits when he is wrong and cheers even when it's sometimes not convenient.
So what's everyone else's resolutions?
Feel free to post them and what you intend to do to stay honest with them. Could be coaching or anything really. My hope is that for some, it will be complaining less on draft day, whomever we draft, even if we pass on MHJ or your preferred guys. As a board I feel this last season was about the most positive it's been in years. There were disagreements of course, but it felt like most of us were on board with Monti and coach and my hope is we will all keep trusting their plan and not resorting to any blame games like the Keim-KK days.
