Official Game Day Thread Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers
Hi Everyone Cardinals Fans, 49ers Fans and All Guests,
The season's ending game is finally upon us.
Our Arizona Cardinals (4-12) travel to Santa Clara
California and Levi stadium to play the San Francisco 49ers
Who stand up the top of the NFC West division with a
12-4 record. The Cardinals should be playing for pride with players
like JJ Watt retiring after a splendid NFL career. Other
Cardinal players may be seeing their last game.
A.J Green drafted ahead of Watt is now mulling over
his eventual retirement. Rodney Hudson and Justin Pugh
may also be in the conversation of playing their last games.
The Cardinals have a total of 31 free agents on their roster.
( See Link 1 below). The 2023 Arizona Cardinals
will be a very different team at the start of the season.
Not only that, but it is safe to say that Kyler Murray
will not be ready to start the season after his ACL surgery.
Over on the other side of the field, are the San Francisco 49ers
basking under the Sun with a nine game winning streak.
They are playing for home field advantage in the playoffs
So, that factors into a pretty intensive game this Sunday.
Last meeting the 49ers had their way with the Cardinals.
a 38-10 rout in Mexico City. jimmy Garoppolo passed for 4 TDS
in that game and the 49er running game more than doubled the
Cardinals yardage 159 to 67. interceptions on Colt McCoy and
Trace McSorley also hurt the Cardinals in the contest.
Mike Bidwill wanted so much to win over the fans in Mexico
but right from the start the San Francisco fan base was there to support
the 49ers.
Today's game has a decimated injury report for both sides.
The official report is listed later in the thread. Questions
galore abound at the end of Sunday's contest. Is
This Kliff Kingsbury's last game as head coach?
Will Steve Keim be back or is it the final curtain
for his regime. What about the rest of the staff?
Its a tall order for Michael Bidwill to handle and
how will he approach it?
The 49ers 4th String QB Brock Purdy is winning
over fans faster than you can count sugar on your cereal.
The 29 year old signal caller has started his 4th game
with a QB rating of 101.4 and 10 TDS vs only 4 Ints.
He has been sacked 7 times. So D.C. Vance Joseph
could dial up some blitz packages to get to the QB.
Arizona also strikes back with its 4th string QB in David Blough.
He is in his second start this weekend after an admiral
performance in a losing effort to the Atlanta Falcons last week.
The game has meaning for the Cardinals draft status as well.
At worst Arizona has the 6th pick and at best with the Bears
and Broncos winning they can moved up to second.
It all remains to be seen on the Game Day Thread
