I'm continuing to plough the options along the Defensive Line. One source of excellent analysis I have considered each of the last two draft cycles is Steelers Depot. They have yet to get going in anger this time around, but my suggestion for those interested (in the draft prospects) is keep your eye out for their articles. I would say very professional and insightful. I have thought this time around to double up and find another team site to follow. I think I might have found a good one 'Finding Browns Fits in the 2023 NFL Draft:' First up is Tuli Tuipulotu. - www.si.com/nfl/browns/browns-maven-features/2023-draft-fits-tuli-tuipulotuA real good option. His flexibility to play along the line is excellent although at his stated weight (290 lbs) then you would think DE will be his best position in the NFL. Draft Tuli and gradually increase his playing time through 2023. Thereafter straight replacement for JJ Watt. Cost? - 2nd-round pick

.and another option. This time at Nose Tackle. Mazi Smith. - www.si.com/nfl/browns/browns-maven-features/browns-nfl-draft-fits-mazi-smithEvery draft year I have been on board with a Michigan Edge player. This year I am going center of the DL. Cost? - 3rd-round pick (We could actually take both). I'm done with the Defensive Line for now. Top 6 option - Myles Murphy (Clemson) Mid-later first-round option - Tyree Wilson (Texas Tech) 2nd-round option - Tuli Tuipulotu (USC) 3rd-round option - Mazi Smith (Michigan)

Anybody that was tracking Tennessee QB Hooker as potential NFL QB might reconsider. The 25 year-old 6th-year senior (yeah, he's a professional student athlete living in a college dorm and eating free meals) blew out a knee ACL this past weekend. TN said Hooker is done at their college football program. After six years, I'd say so too.

Fashanu is a great OL idea for 2024. Hold that thought! I read the same report immediately after Fashanu said he prioritized a Penn State University education over an NFL paycheck. Smart decision by Fashanu! The NFL paychecks will be there when he is ready. He's not close to being ready for the NFL as a 19-20 year-old. Already the hype machinery pushed Fashanu's name into the Top 10 for a theoretical draft pick. Maybe the Cardinals will consider Fashanu later, perhaps in 2024? By then, he will have finished his junior year at Penn State. Fashanu along with the 100's NFL scouts will know if his body and brain are ready for the jump up to the pro's. I'm sorting through other OL ideas for 2023. Thanks for posting on Fashanu.

I'm sorting through other OL ideas for 2023. Putmein; I look forward to reading your views with regard the OL. I think this is the year we need a proper investment along each of the lines hence using our first and second round picks on these. I know people are pushing for a Center (and I'm not against the idea), however I just sense Tackle could turn out to be our greatest need and also our best opportunity.

I'm intrigued by C Billy Price, 27 years old, grabbed from the Raiders PS earlier this season. Can his mental flaws be coached out by the Cardinals staff? That assumes the staff lasts beyond January 2023! Price failed at three previous stops (NYG, CIN, and LAR). Why? Does Price have a learning disability? Or he just worked with bad QBs? Murray and Price have also had issues.

That assumes the staff lasts beyond January 2023! He's got five games left. Shine out and earn a new contract, or otherwise he may be done in the NFL. Billy certainly has the incentive to step-up and perform and we will soon discover if he has it in him. Lecitus Smith is allegedly being coached to play Center, the plan appeared to him not playing at all this season and instead concentrate on his development. I think this was a sensible strategy, but injuries on the OL have forced him into the lineup. He is now listed as a Guard on the Depth Chart. On the one-hand it's good that he is seeing action (and getting a taste of the big-time) whilst on the other the switch might stimy his growth into the Center role. Okay, I get it, many will feel that we just need to recruit a top-talent and be sorted with the position for the next ten years. Only thing is Billy Price was picked #21 in the first round only back in 2018. Life is never easy or simple...

Kids and adults do dumb stuff 24/7. Mazi's arrest record for an unauthorized lethal weapon will follow him forever and could affect his lifestyle choices later. Mazi is rightly accused of using very poor judgment for (1) speeding and (2) having a weapon in the vehicle. What else? I do not think Mazi's arrest for an unauthorized lethal weapon in a vehicle will have an effect on a GM's decision on Draft day. First, Mazi was only charged with a felony, not convicted of a felony. The Court likely will reduce the charge to a misdemeanor and fine Mazi a hefty amount. Mazi now is authorized to have a weapon in a vehicle or on his person per the article about him gaining the permit. But he still has to follow all conceal carry laws. The University of Michigan might wonder also if Mazi brought the lethal weapon onto university properties. The Court case might cause a University investigation, team disciplinary response, suspension from the University, and complete barring from the University. As GM, I would wonder about Mazi's respect for authority, US laws, and knowing right from wrong. Keim might still be interested in Mazi though. Keim has a record too.

If blown away by a ridiculous trade package you probably take that but I’m of the opinion let’s not get cute… Jalen Carter or Will Anderson is there you take them.
