FLCF, thanks for posting Meyer's interview. The man oozes ideas about team-building, leadership, and accountability. He and Lawrence are a good fit and will go places together. Your welcome boss Look forward to this week's game.

What's up with Daniel Jeremiah picking the Jags? He was the only one that picked the Vikings too. GIrrrrr.. He picked the JAGS makes me wanna gag. He accurately describes all the goods and others about the Cardinals and Jaguars teams. I think he's hedging only when he picks the Jags to win, sort of like a bettor at a craps table in casino putting a $1 bet on double-sixes. If he hits boxcars, the payoff is massive as a percent, something like 320% ($32). If he loses, the bet only cost a buck and no one expected the payoff anyway and it's all soon forgotten. The Jaguars could win, sure. But the Cardinals first will have to do everything wrong for a full 3 hours before losing a game to this Jaguars team. I just don't see either happening on Sunday. The Cardinals are far more disciplined and experienced. I know you are attending the game on the St. Johns River. Enjoy watching in person these two young QBs that someday will be NFL legends. Send pics!

Injury bug across NFL. Only two weeks into the season. Tough to have enough serviceable bodies at each position, between roster and PS. It would be nice to have more players protected on PS. Looks like Card O-line is getting nicked up a bit. Having to go to east coast then next week we start conference play against Rams the last thing Cards need is another game like Vikings, that was a very physical game. Although not AZ’s style a early lead would help. Not having to have starters play too many snaps and then get as many players involved as possible.
On Jags side rookie CB Campbell that many on board are aware of during predraft may have to replace Henderson who has groin injury. Jags may have hope in controlling clock with seeing success of Vikings. When teams see a weakness they will test to see if it can be exploited.
If players like Allen continue to struggle and D-line doesn’t control the Jags the hope of hanging with the Rams next week look bleak. The first part of our schedule is no joke and after a couple very physical games the Cards need take control of Jags. AZ needs to win this game. With Rams, Niners and Browns next that is a gauntlet.

What I need to see in this game is a team that is intent on challenging the Rams for the best in West. This needs to be big tuneup game for the series of super tough games. A team that clears up penalties, stop the run, and involve the TE and RM to greater degree. We need ZC to take next step and become a beast. A hungry team that is intent on one game at a time. I will guarantee you this we will lose this game if we don’t come out firing in all three phases.

If I was Cardinals HC, this is my presser speech upon arriving at the Jacksonville Jaguars Field...
"I am not concerned about week #4 and the LAR game, or SF and CLE games afterwards. Those 3 fights are way out there, and pieces of the year-long strategic problem. We have to plan and fight the enemy in front of us. If we become distracted by tomorrow, we will lose today. I am only concerned about week #3 and the Jaguars. The Jaguars is the tactical problem and will be solved now. The Cardinals are ready for this fight and we will win.
Do not ask me anymore questions about the Rams, 49ers, and Browns games."

Coaches coach, from a fan’s point of view looking at schedule preseason with the first six games it looked like that was the largest obstacle that would prevent the Cards from getting to playoffs. 1-5 or 2-4 looked very plausible. Two things working for Cards currently, one Rams face the Bucs this week, and two Cards are hitting on all cylinders on offense although they look like they could improve on the first two games. League leading numbers against decent competition. By AZ getting off to a 2-0 start and 3-0 is within reach as posted above if the Cards can tune things up against Jags and the Bucs beat up Rams the Cards have a legitimate opportunity to punch big brother in the mouth in LA next week. Like several fans, I would like to see the running game established better in Florida, but the Jags defensive strength is stopping the run, so if it is another aerial attack great. The faster the Cards put points on the board the better. Still looking for more turnovers from the defense. Also, I would like to see less Hicks and Golden this week, get them rest for Rams. I don’t need to see Lawrence making those two look more slow, would rather see Collins have a few mistakes and it is time for Victor to get some snaps rushing the passer. With Fitts and Vallejo it is time for fresh bodies to play on defense. Getting anxious looking forward to this game.

As HC talking to the press, I'd say, "We got this." Then I'd smile and walk away. On Sunday, I'd walk out onto the Field, scoop up an handful of dirt, and say to the troops, "We are going to soak this soil with the enemy's blood today." Geez, that's a scary quote for a Jag's locker room bulletin board.
